Dabo to the Texans?

One of my faves.

In “organized team activities” (OTAs) that spring, Saban had the entire team line up for sprints. He blew his whistle, and everyone took off ... except for Keith Traylor, a nose tackle who weighed at least 350 pounds. According to some of his teammates, Traylor—then a 14-year NFL veteran and winner of three Super Bowls—had a clause in his contract that relieved him of conditioning duties. So, instead of sprinting with the rest of the team, Traylor set off on a leisurely jog. When he realized that Saban was eyeing him, Traylor began to taunt him, yelling, “Hey, Nick! Hey, Nick!” Traylor knew, as the rest of his teammates did, that Saban hated being called “Nick” by his players. He wanted them to address him as “Coach” or “Coach Saban,” just as his college players always had.

Traylor kept yelling, “Hey, Nick!” Finally, Saban snapped and told him to shut the **** up and run.

Traylor responded: “Who the **** do you think you’re talking to?” and ambled over to the sideline and stood and watched as his teammates ran their sprints.

What more does he have to prove at Clemson? Wouldn’t surprise me if he tried a new venture in his life. Texans are a few pieces away and he has Watson there. Worst case, he fails and goes to Bama in 5 years.

Let’s help make his decision a little easier on Saturday.

Good question.

Even Saban tried the NFL. I think the ship has sailed on Dabo to Bama, much like "Don James to Miami". For the record, Don James was at Washington for 18 seasons. Dabo is in his 13th season at Clemson. Alma mater is powerful, but so is doing your own thing.

And I don't think Dabo does himself any favors by trying to "go back home" to follow Saban. CONSTANT comparisons.

I think he goes to the NFL, and if things don't work out, he's still had a great career. Dude's about to turn 51. And he'd be great as a TV analyst if he didn't have a long NFL HC tenure.

now i understand why saban retreated from here with tail between his legs in the cover of night.

Why would any NFL team hire him? Dabo doesn’t do X’s and O’s better than your average guy. His best attribute is his ability to get KIDS ready for a game. The NFL isn’t full of kids, it’s full of guys that mean more to the organization and fan base than the coach.

Dabo would be stupid to even consider going to the pro because Pro coaches are hired to be fired for the most part.He can see from Saban and Spurrier failures,two coaches that are supposed to be in the upper echelon of CFB coaching ,that their CFB sht doesn't work in the pros nor does their control freak tendencies.You grab a professional players facemask and yank on it to get his attention and you may get your *** smacked by him.

What also doesn't work is you don't get 6-8 5* recruits each year to work with your lucky if your 1 maybe 2 first round draft picks pan out.

Dabo is a God in Clemson SC. and makes more than the majority of the pro coaches now.

He may one day take over for Saban( and he'd be stupid to do that IMO ) but I don't see any way he goes to the pros.
