Curt Cignetti names Miami as one of the six NIL spenders

Fortunate to have been given a ****** schedule and the get *** whipped in playoffs. Let’s see what happen this year.
Miami's schedule wasn't ****** last season too?

Cignetti lost to Ohio St on the road and Notre Dame in the playoffs. Those two teams played for the national championship.

Mario lost to Georgia Tech, Syracuse and Iowa St. None of the three played in a meaningful bowl. And this was in Year 3 of Mario's blueprint with a Heisman finalist QB.

We are basically in the same spot we’ve been. Going into a critical year for an underachieving HC. It’s tradition
This

DL was terrible last season and we're returning the same bodies. LB and S are still a huge question mark. Mario did address CB but we'll see how it works out.

Not going to be surprised at all if this team is 8-4. If it is, it's totally unacceptable after 4 seasons with an 8mil/yr coach and all the resources he's been given inside of this dollar tree conference.

Why is anyone mad about this? You think recruits hear this and will be less interested in Miami?

Year 7 is his year man

Indiana was in the playoffs last year and Miami wasn't. You don't have to like him but he's done more at Indiana than Mario has at Miami.
Don't forget Brady Hoke went 11-2 at Michigan one year. Don't forget Will Muschamp's hot start and Gene Chizik was awesome one season at Auburn too. More recently, there's Sonny Dykes too.

After you digest that sarcasm, take a stats class and pay special attention to "sample size" and "regression to the mean." Or look up that cuck's cumulative coaching record at Indiana after the 2027 season.

He names Oregon, Texas, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas Tech and Miami are spending at an unfair level.

“I mean if you want to be the best, you’ve got to be able to compete against the best… Right now, I understand it is Oregon, Ohio State, Texas… Texas Tech is because of its oil money. I think Notre Dame’s up there pretty good right now, too. Miami, of course.”

I see that he's called an analyst.

ANALyst. Makes sense.

Comment was about Indiana HC popping off after waltzing thru a cake schedule.
Let’s see. . . It appears Indiana played 8 home games last fall. Road tilts included 3 **** poor teams - Northwestern, Michigan State and UCLA. Three home non-conference games with FIU, Western Illinois and Charlotte. Believe team was led by a transfer portal QB as it will be as well this season. Point is rather rich of the HC to pontificate or single out programs, noting the holy one was also on the Alabama staff early in his career.

- Cignetti got his azs whipped by those two teams. Neither game was close. At all.
- Cignetti beat zero ranked teams.
- Cignetti talks with arrogance that would be reserved for folks that have actually accomplished something of significance. They beat some awful teams FIU, Charlotte and Western Illinois were their non conference games. Their B1G schedule included UCLA, Northwestern, and Purdue along with some others that had down years (Michigan, Washington for starters). They got smoked by the good teams they played.
- Most importantly, Mario isn't making stupid sound bites like Cignetti when it comes to paying players.

You can bicker back and forth on the first three points, but the last part stands on its own.

Which roster is better? May 25’ or May 24’?

My money is on 24’.

How are we spending so much and achieving so little in comparison???

That involves the future and hypotheticals. I'm just going off of what's happening presently. He can talk **** about Miami right now because he's done more at Indiana than Mario has at Miami.

It also involves both critical thinking and experience.
While yes, you can say "he's done more at Indiana than Mario has at Miami," it is really disingenuous because it lacks nuance....like the fact his schedule was really, really weak. I don't agree with the take, but in time, perhaps you'll be shown to be correct. I just highly doubt it as I've seen this movie before, hence the list of former coaches who also did more than Mario has at Miami.

Spoiler alert for a lot of you reading the words often loses the context of what was said, and what was wasn’t really a shot and if it was a shot it’s a shot we should welcome because it just makes you look like you got money

Such an amazing post.

Every time somebody makes a comment about another team or another coach, some Miami-hating "Miami fan" feels compelled to tell us about how "Miami wasn't so great last year either".

Not the point. It's not about "yeah, but we had a couple of losses too". Not the point.

Cignetti ran his mouth and Cignetti got blown out. END OF COMPARISON. There is no comparison.
