Culture is not just a buzzword

That's because we have tried coaches with different philosophies, from different backgrounds, Miami guys and non-Miami guys, you name it. Yet they have all failed with the same recruiting base.
Only Al golden wasn’t a Miami guy. The other 5 were, and 3 of them weren’t hc material

So we tried Miami guys and non-Miami guys, and they all failed. There are PLENTY of assistants who "failed" as well who weren't Miami guys.

People can say what they want about culture but it’s a big reason we are having the season we are

Is it the reason for the slide? No coaching ego like Gattis has…

Is it the reason we lost to MTSU/Duke? No again coaching ego and simply thinking the U on the helmet would win by 21 points

But the quit this team has anytime a team stands up and gives us one on the chin? Oh that’s culture because this is a SOFT LOSER mentality driven team… from the captains to the bottom water boy

So manny won 7 and 8 games( shortened season) the last two seasons with a bad culture you agree existed even for him. Mario can’t even be bowl eligible…got it

"can't" is the wrong word, and we know this because Mario has been bowl eligible several times.

I see “credibility” is the new buzzword around here.

Literally the only ppl who question Mario’s credibility are canes fans on their board and rivals who should.

The guy has reputation as a program builder, who recruits the best players, and is known for instilling discipline and toughness.

And despite a losing record has one of the top classes in the country…

But apparently CIS grand jury has decided his “credibility” is in question.
Mario is a program builder in the same sense that gattis is an offensive genius and was the best coordinator in the country last year

Also, Oregon was 111th in penalties last year and got physically dominated and humiliated twice by Utah in his fourth year at Oregon. Where is this toughness and discipline you speak of? Two more Mario narratives that have no basis in reality

He Can’t at Miami this year with a similar team and a toxic culture as you call it…pretty simple to compare last years miami team to this years

This is an example of the black-and-white thinking that goes on here. There's a whole lot going on that no one even knows about. It's a whole lot more complex than "last year went ______, therefore this team must go _______ or the coach sucks". I'll accept a step backwards if it means moving forward past the 7-5 team we've been for 20 years.

Last year's team had a competent offensive coordinator. This year's team does not.

That's Mario's fault. I expect him to correct it in about 3 weeks.
Just curious how you think he will do better this time, both with who he targets and who is interested? We are in a much worse situation now than we were last year

It's Miami and the pay is at the very top of the sport. Someone will always be interested.

Supposedly last year he interviewed Kendal Briles and Jason Candle, among others. That makes me think he's not married to a power spread scheme.

So how much we can pay, our location, and the fact that he was on the right track last year before setting on Gattis makes me optimistic it can and hopefully will improve.

What was the 49ers record before they hired Walsh? Yeah, they were 2-14. Walsh inherited a terrible team and built it from the ground up.

The 2021 Miami Hurricanes weren’t a terrible team. They had flaws but still went 7-5, including winning 6 of the final 7 games. The idea that you have to get worse to get better is totally ludicrous to me and doesn’t apply anywhere outside of the coaching profession.
Who were to the top

Tacklers and WRs on last years team?

Who were the starting linebackers on last year team?

The idea that the 2022 hurricanes are the same as the 2021 hurricanes is ludicrous.

I’m not saying the coaching has been great there is plenty to be desired.

But I’m also not going to say this is the same team.

Or even that this team is as talented as Canes fans think it is on paper.

These kids need(Ed) a lot of development many of them had not gotten it for 2-3 years.

MTSU has faster WRs than we do…

Duke’s Oline was able to push us around…we couldn’t even get a yard of push vs them.

Literally the opposite of talent.

A crutch?

For years @Cribby @SWFLHurricane @Boarcane, @Coach Macho Dee and others have alluded to a toxic culture/locker room.

It seems to have and has been a real issue. Par for the course.

I agree it can be a convenient excuse to only point to the culture issue as the reason for why everything that is happening now in year 1.

It’s a combo of things and mistakes being made by the admin, coaches and players especially by the OC that repeatedly throws kids under the bus.

But the culture can’t outright be dismissed as it’s an integral part.

Now if at this point next year if culture is all that is being talked about as an excuse for another poor season, I will be right there next to you.

The culture gets magnified as an end result of the poor hires made at coaching positions because 1/2 buy in and the rest don’t due to the battle within the team.
It’s 100% a Crutch and y’all are full of **** dawg. Manny Diaz was ran out of town before any talk of the culture came up

If you think there isn't a culture problem, then your only answer for the 45-3 loss is bad play calling. And no one is buying that. Dudes have quit.

The coach who went from 3-6 to 5-7 to 6-3 with a win over the current #7 team and a six-point loss at Clemson has bad culture? Do tell.
YES. Wins and losses have nothing to do with culture. A great coach that instills culture, that culture applies no matter the W & L column. One of the best coaches I ever got to meet personally (although he’s no longer HC) in Paul Chryst exemplifies that. FSU has guys running around doing what they want in that locker room still. Only different is they’re GETTING COACHED. **** outta here

No one in any team or organization believes this.

If FSU is "getting coached", why did it take until the third season to start winning?
