Remember that famous line that starts "Better to be silent"

No Thanks, not when my tax dollars might be concerned.

I don't want my tax dollars going into another potential conflict in Cuba, and I certainly don't want my tax dollars going into the pockets of a "Democratically" selected puppet...I've seen that move before.

No Thanks.

The same people who are silent about Cuba hoping that it will go back to to the oppressive communust dictatorship are the same ones who claim to be compassionate toward immigrants. Their silence on this speaks volumes.

Wet foot, dry foot was bad policy. Telling people who are risking their lives to live free that they'll be sent to another country at best is just heartless.

For every dollar of your precious tax dollars that you already pay to the government, somewhere in the area of half - 50 cents - goes to the military, veterans benefits, government pay to the bureaucracy, the RnD, International Affairs. The next fraction of a penny that it would require from you to have a conflict in Cuba...a conflict we are currently in and have been in since the embargo - at minimum - (which has essentially been an economic war that has led up to this very point in time in the first place) is nada.

Listen brother...come grab a beer from me at the first home game and I will gladly give you one crisp dollar bill that should cover your personal tax contribution to the liberation of the Cuban people. That should cover interest and consider the beer as a free thank you.

Do you know how many God awful wasteful programs your tax dollar goes to? lol

While I would agree the embargo wasn't very beneficial in deterring Castro/communism in Cuba. Also wouldn't say it would fix anything in Cuba to get rid of the embargo. The main issue in Castro's regime has always been human rights violations and Mussleing free speech. As far as Trade goes, Cuba does business with most other nations. Issues that cost Cubans their liberty were much more aligned with Castro's ideology than an embargo imposed by the United States.

I don't disagree with you on the whole...just making a point that the United States has been "at war" (as liberally as possible, I'm using that - economically) with Cuba for a long time with the kind of sanctions they had on Cuba, are usually a go-to to stimulate regime change...that has clearly taken a lot longer than anticipated due to, as you've laid out, the Castro ideology.

I wasn't getting into the nitty gritty on it, was just making an overall point that what little funds the poster puts into America's interaction with Cuba already was bare minimum.

Cuba has more freedom than the entirely of latin america.
The revolution is too strong and won't fall.
Anyone that wants what's best for Cuba should pressure the US government to stop the illegal economic blockade that's been forced on the cuban people for 60 years.

The Pueblo of Camaguey reportedly overthrew the communists and took over the local federal buildings!

With Biden having to cater to Bernie, AOC and all of the other socialists, I dont think the outcome will be good.
No way. My Cane brethren that spent a ton of time with me at the Ole Girl in LH know that old school Cubans don't put up with any Communist bull**** such as what we have in office now. No way they help bring in future voters they know won't cut their way. They are likely on their own with our border left open for the rest to come in without COVID tests or vaccines.
