Maybe there is contractual language that prevents in-season changes, maybe there is contractual language regarding certain exits during the season or after the season of a sport.

So basically you have no idea what you're talking about. Like I said, we don't have an AD and we're currently in a search, a full thorough search.

Stop it...take 31 schollies, no TV or Bowl for a yr from ANY coach in America (especially back then) and let's see how they would've fared...not one of them would have built the Greatest team ever under those circumstances...

Except, miami had won 4 championships and ruled CFB over the prior 11 years prior to Butch.

Every Miami kid craved a Miami offer. Every outside Miami kid craved a Miami offer. And, there was a very limited supply of scholarships.

"FROM NATIONAL CHAMPS TO NATIONAL CHUMPS" ruled the day.

And his first teams went 9-3 with some NFL hall of fame talent.

I used to say, "everyone loves 2020", but with 20-20 hindsight of the pandemic, I don't say that anymore :-)

Erickson left a quagmire...And as far as your comment that EVERY Kid craved an offer from UM in 1995...you couldn't be further from the truth....I need absolutely no lessons on what went on at UM from 95-2000...I literally lived at Hecht during those days having a family member on staff...

If I remember correctly, anyone from his current recruiting class that would potentially sign before he leaves and comes to Miami could back out of their commitment because of the coaching change, potentially setting them up to sign here. Not saying they will, but I believe that is an option.
