I guess PSU didn’t get the CIS memo by the experts?

Do you honestly believe that Pedo State is a nationally recognized brand that people wear from coast-to-coast?

Right now, if I put a blindfold on you and spun you in circles, you wouldn't be able to name the "Nittany Lion" in a line-up of school logos. That's the truth. And near-black-and-white? Who gives a ****?

I'm not saying that the Pedo State freshman students won't line up to buy **** at the campus bookstore, just like what happens at every other state school. But I also know what I experience every day when I wear the U (every day) in Atlanta or when I travel throughout the south. And it's DEFINITELY NOT the same reaction I would be getting if I was wearing a near-black Nittany Lion shirt every day.

But, yeah, I'll be waiting for Pedo State to finally become a merch/branding powerhouse under the genius stewardship of adidas. Really...it was NIKE that was holding Pedo State back, lo these many years...

At least I can understand the **** with Tennessee (it's the reverse of the Miami situation). Tennessee won a title with adidas and hasn't won with Nike. We won our 5 with Nike and have not won with adidas. But Pedo State? What?

if the deal is like what Pete said he is hearing and understanding then they probably have to take it. Give you a lot of money to wear the brand and then a whole different pot of money to pay players is tough to counter

From the article:
There were instances that backed up PSU’s belief that Nike did not feel the same way — like when Penn State requested to do multiple program-specific projects that Nike denied. Multiple sources said Penn State requested to wear the gold swoosh on their jerseys for the College Football Playoff semifinal against Notre Dame, much like Ohio State had, but it was denied.
And when the department wanted to make Saquon Barkley-branded shoes, it was denied until it became an option as part of the most recent round of negotiations, sources said. And, again, with Nike’s initial offer to Penn State during this round of negotiations, which, according to a source, was lower than Nike’s current deal with the Nittany Lions. Multiple sources also said the shoe giant hasn’t had any major representative on campus since Penn State made a change in athletic directors from Sandy Barbour to Pat Kraft in July 2022.”

$30m annually, money to NIL, and incentives structures for winning and hitting different milestones sounds pretty sweet. I hope we get a similar deal.

It’s a good thing we’ve become relevant again at a time when our last deal is coming up for renegotiation

Wouldn't be surprised if the extra NIL incentive is that they'll give extra in NIL money to guys they have signed IF they are at an Adidas program.

That's how I'd set it up If I were them, like you sign these HS/College Prospects to deals, but say you get a 10% bump if you're at an Adidas School.... Thats one way to help with NIL while maintaining some hands off (like do they what if a guy like Mauigoa/Keys is picking between UTenn/Miami, I think it's in Adidas interest to kinda be hands off there, and just have a blanket Hey as long as you go to either one you'll get more... Up to us to still win that recruitment. But Adidas should be more incentivizing aligning player to programs and owning the full package. Having a player and not school or vice versa doesn't make much sense until after College imo
