2021 ACC Football Tiebreaker Policy - Atlantic Coast Conference
If more than one team in the same division is tied for the best winning percentage in its Conference games, the procedures listed below will be followed to determinetheacc.com
We either need Clumpson to lose 1 and we win out. We would face ND.
Or we need ND to lose twice and we win out. We would face Clem

How about we play another game first lol....Miami has one more conference win than Clemson?
I think Notre Dame only needs to lose once.
I was thinking they'd make sure we lose to UNC, but that's just me.Correct. And further, the ACC is going to do everything in their power to ensure ND and Clemson play again. Not aside from the obvious reasons (ratings), but because if somehow Miami has a glimmer of hope, then they'd have a huge cluster**** on their hands on 12/19.
That is the day of the ACC Championship. And it's also the day Miami is scheduled to play Georgia Tech. The game vs Georgia Tech was scheduled with a caveat. That caveat is "This game will be played if Miami is not in the ACC Football Championship Game and if the result of the GT @ Miami game would not directly impact the determination of which two teams do play in the league championship game"
So, for ***** and giggles, let's assume Clemson loses another game. So they have 2 conference losses, Miami beats Wake and UNC, so we have 1, and ND has zero. Well, now we got ourselves a situation. Because what happens on 12/19? You can't just put Miami in the ACCCG instead of playing GT. The caveat clearly says the game will be played if the result would not directly impact who plays in the ACCCG. Well, what if Miami loses that game? Then Clemson is back in business. So you have to play the Miami vs GT game, but it's the same day as the ACCCG. Quite the pickle.
So....it all works nice and easy if ND and Clemson just keep winning. So that is EXACTLY what the ACC will make happen.

All this is true especially considering ND is not going to be in the ACC next year or ever (unless another pandemic comes around).I guessed from the start this was rigged for Clemson-ND. ND gets Clemson at home. Miami gets Clemson on the road. It even looks like the ACC left money on the table to make sure it was ND-Clemson. The ACC easily could have scheduled Miami v ND when coming up with the schedule, which I guarantee would have been the most viewed "ACC" matchup this season. But then if Miami won, it would spoil the matchup plan.
The ACC invented new tiebreaker rules for this modified season, it could have also tried to protect the actual paying members of the ACC by saying that ND could only take one of the ACC championship game slots if the other ACC teams in contention had least two losses. ND would have had no choice but to accept this, because otherwise they would have had almost no shot of the playoffs. Instead, every other dues paying member of the ACC is almost certainly going to be left out of the conference championship. This isn't just a disservice to Miami, if UNC manages to finish with one loss, they should also get the chance to play in the ACC championship game rather than the team that isn't actually a member of the conference for football. This is the football equivalent of the Montreal Screwjob. The ACC brass is giving its own members sweet chin music and running to the locker room with the championship belt.
Correct. And further, the ACC is going to do everything in their power to ensure ND and Clemson play again...
Not if The ACC REFs have anything to do with it like I see 10-15 Holding calls not Called.....Miami has one more conference win than Clemson?
I would imagine they will push back the ACC Championship if Miami's game against GT would affect who plays in it.
Or that shxt the VT kicker did, oh man the Flag we will see if our kicker did that.If they drop 2 games expect the acc refs to call personal fouls on us for high fives for excessive celebration.
The whole thing was fixed from the jump to have Clemson and then in the final.
