Could Diaz Be Gone?

I didn't realize so many people here had personal conversations with Manny Diaz regularly. Impressive

You have reached absolute rock bottom as a so called "fan" if you're cooking up hopeful scenarios for our DC to leave so it gets the coach fired.

Wtf are you guys even doing on here. You aren't a fan, you're a hater acting like a petulant child because no one is implementing your insane get rid of Richt, the AD, everyone in the administration and your hand picked list of assistant coaches who need to go.

For ***** sake, get a life.

Yeah, it is bizarro world.
Uncle Puke spreads this scenario to hurt UM and we have folks here running with it on a public forum.

It's nothing about the check.... as a young coach on his way up, what more can he achieve here realistically? with this HC and crew?

He can't go to Marlins games with his dad if he moves to Athens.

I don't buy the UGa thing but an HC call at a mid major would be his next best move.... we won't know that until Jan, when the poaching of coaches from that level starts off..

No. Smart and Diaz's defensive systems are not even remotely the same, so it doesn't make any sense (even taking out all the other stuff other posters have pointed out on this board).

Leave Cubans for corn fields...I don’t ever see that happening. He sticks w us, becomes a HC, and gets an aggressive Miami Offensive scoring machine...He knows what Miami football is and breathes it.

Jimbo Fisher was literally hired under the same circumstances. Make Diaz the HCIW, like Jimbo, and he will be in Miami for the long haul!
You cannot compare Jimbo Fisher being brought in to allow a legend to retire vs Miami's situation.
Name Manny Diaz, head coach in waiting now and what you're telling recruits is come here and wait a couple of years until we fire Richt.

of course you can and you were wrong about 7-5 teams not having a HCIW.

not only that but you are limiting potential options at HC because you don't know who will be out there in a couple of years. What you do is let Manny know he would be strongly considered and be "tops" on the hypothetical list. If that is not enough to keep him around ...oh well. But you can't strap yourself like Blake has already done like extending contracts to coaches who have not proven anything yet.

Diaz is gonna leave to run Smart/Satan’s 3-4/ multiple front defense? Seems legit!

I sure did. What's your point? That Smart made a dumb decision? All coaches make stupid mistakes. The difference is that Smart is actually building something in Athens. The difference is Smart is competing with Bama. The difference is that Smart played for a natty in his 2nd year and after losing a ton to graduation, Smart had his team in the hunt for a playoff spot in year 3. Richt couldn't do those things in his dreams. That and the fact that making stupid boneheaded decisions are a weekly occurrence with Rick. Try harder.

Did i say Richt was doing a better job.....nope....just pointing out that smart is an imbecile with that fake punt that everyone in the stadium was calling out well before the snap

Agree to disagree

Diaz would be foolish to leave for anything other than a head coaching opportunity somewhere—as Miami is his dream job and cutting his teeth as a head coach elsewhere before returning to UM would be the only thing better than his current defensive coordinator gig now. The guy is in his early 40's and grew up a diehard Miami native and fan during the Decade of Dominance era.

As for someone here stating that Georgia could pay him THREE TIMES what Miami is paying—GTFOH. That isn't even close to true.

BoT members recently stated there's over $1M to pay a top-notch offensive coordinator, should Richt hire one. You think that same money—if not more—doesn't exist to keep Diaz? Please. (So to that point, Georgia wouldn't pay him THREE MILLION annually as a DC when Kirby is making $3.75M annually—less than Miami pays Richt.) The ignorance here, fueled by hatred of Richt, is rotting peoples' brains.

Barring Diaz has a good agent, he will field any outside offers and parlay that into (1) more money from Miami as well as (2) a head coach in waiting type opportunity, solidifying his tenure with the program, which helps recruiting, while also giving him a road map where his career is headed.

Laughable to think he'd leave Miami for the DC gig at Georgia. Where do some of you get this crap?
