man I tell you, some of you all. SMH. I am all for the kid coming here, but he has a right to make up his own **** mind. If it is for money, then good for him cause someone is paying him. If it is cause he is wanting to chase a ring and sees what FSU is doing and thinking that is what is best for him, so be it, glad for him. If it is he wants to be here for the other players, Welcome to the U.

Don't get all jimmies rustled, this happens every year where grown *** men are butthurt over what a 17-18 year old kid does.

I wish him the best and hope he comes here cause I am a Canes fan, but let it go till the LOI.

It's a Catch 22 for our staff. We're not beating the top teams unless we have equal or better talent. We've proven that on the field the last couple years. However, it's going to be hard to get those super studs to compete with the top teams who are poaching the super studs if we can't get over the hump and become a **** program again.

I said Grandma's sudden distaste for us "visiting too much" less than a week since Cook began seriously considering us, is pretty shady. You can also amalgamate that with the slew of rumors from guys around Miami who have been saying this for a while.

If you all dont think this goes on, you are beyond naive. You dont think FSU has been all over this kid too? But suddenly its OUR coaches who are a "bother", days after he decided to OV here and is now considering us? LMAO. Man this is CLEAR as a bell to me.

Visiting too much might have something to do with us being allowed to visit when ever we want. If Cook didn't sign the FAA papers we would be allowed to visit as much. Cook signed the papers a week ago. Lets calm down with the conspiracy theories. FSU and UF can't be all over Cook like we can because of distance.

How come only the super blue-chippers that UM wants have these shadowy figures lurking in the weeds making it best for them to put on the sunglasses, big nose and mustache disguise and go hide 4 hours away in Gainesville where no one will ever recognize them when they have their uniform on with their name on the back? How come The Millionaire Armbrister didn't have these ghouls and goblins chasing him off?

It's mind boggling you can make these accusations. First it was Florida paying him, now it is FSU? I mean, any big time recruit who goes to a school that is playing for the National Championship game, dominating College Football and has a strong history of recruiting top players has to be getting paid. Right? Come on..

Also, I hate to be that guy, but let's not pretend like our school is so innocent. Clearly, Shapiro and some of our former coaches did some shady **** with big time recruits in the past. It happens everywhere.

First off, pull your head out of your @ss. No one said every time a kid leaves So Fla its because of money. NOR has anyone said that Cook's interest in FSU is only because of money. What I said is, this situation screams $$$. And if you dont think it goes on A LOT in South Florida, than you have no clue about recruiting buddy. Grandma suddenly is bothered by UM's visiting "too much" less than a week since Cook decided to start seriously considering us? LMAO. Really? Because FSU has not been all over him too? GTFOH with that bullsh*t. If you cant see this for what it is, you are lost homie. There are people on EVERY Canes board who have been flat out saying there is $$ involved here all season. And its really not surprising at all. Not if you have followed how Inner City South Florida recruiting works for a while.

Im not saying Cook doesnt have legit interest in FSU. Im saying this situation with the Grandma is a DEAD givaway that highly suspect is going on. Do I have proof? Nope. Is it 100% certain? Nope. But after almost 30 years of following recruiting, and having seen this same story play out over and over and over again with inner city Miami kids, buddy this has ALL the red flags.

And no one is claiming our school is 100% innocent. Sure we have had boosters who have crossed the line, and weve had some of our own issues, but when it comes to flat out buying top notch kids, I DONT believe we do it, because we cant. We simply CANNOT compete with the big programs, particularly the SEC schools. Shapiro himself claimed that. Have we greased wheels along the way, and played some games? Sure. There is no way any school can compete at this level and not have. But we dont do what many of the big programs do, because we cant.
 
It's not probative of anything until you hear that FSU is the favorite because of their academics.

He signed the papers less than a week ago. He was an an OV here over the weekend. How many visits could we possibly have had? 2? And she has nothing but nice thigs to say about FSU's staff, but ours are like pariahs?? LMAO. SINCE WHEN dude? When has ANYONE ever accused guys like Hurlie, Barrow, or AG of being ANYTHING but class gentlemen and great when visiting families? Yet this woman just aint digging it? Why? Sorry. That dog wont hunt. Ive seen this movie too many times before.

Staff comes over, Grannies says how much$$$, if our staff says "we cant", suddenly Grannie or whoever is running the recruitment has not time for us. LOL.

Is it 100% gurananteed? Nope. But this same exact routine has been going on in South Florida recuiting since I can remember. All the signs are there.

I agree that pay-to play is not going anywhere anytime soon; however, in this case, I am not totally convinced that Cook has been paid off. Right now, Florida State is dominating college football, playing for a National Championship and developing great talent into the NFL. It is what it is. In addition, I believe Cook attended the Miami/FSU game in Doak and the Miami/Florida game in Sun Life, which game do you think made more of an impression on him? I can tell you from attending both games, If I were an 18 year old kid, I would be more attracted to playing in the Doaks and Swamps of the world. I'm just being honest, Sun Life is a major disadvantage to us in this sense. I hated that Cook attended that game, cause I knew it was going to influence him to strongly consider FSU had the Gators kept struggling.

I hope that Golden and company can sell him on the vision of what we are trying to do here, bring Miami back to domincance and win cookies, early playing time, and playing with and in front of "family."

I respectfully disagree. As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Some times it just doesn't work out for reasons beyond the control of the coaches. Just my two cents.
