I dont see how we win this in the end. I suspect the kid's heart is probably here, with his boys Yearby and Darling, he probably feels comfortable here, sees a great chance to play early, etc... but he's going to "take care of fam". These kids almost always do.

Unfortunately this has become the norm with the elite of the elite in South Florida. We're always going to get the lion's share of studs down here, but we need to land more of the super-studs that have been getting away.

These are the ones FSU, Clemson, and the SEC have been poaching (for one rea$on or another). We can't compete with the "extra" stuff, but we can become the frontrunner favorite again.

We HAVE to get over the hump and make it en vogue again to stay home and win.

A big finish with this class would go a long way.

It's a Catch 22 for our staff. We're not beating the top teams unless we have equal or better talent. We've proven that on the field the last couple years. However, it's going to be hard to get those super studs to compete with the top teams who are poaching the super studs if we can't get over the hump and become a **** program again.

I tried to post about Cook's fam having a check cut by FSU and people thought I was trolling. Per a source who is closely around the situation, Tim Brewster and the grandma are linked in. Brewster has facilitated the transaction(has check ready if he signs) and the grandma is basically all over Cook and pressing him to take the money and go to Tallahassee. However as mentioned by Pete, Cook is torn. It basically comes down to not letting his grandmother down and making the best decision for himself. If you think I'm making this up, then that's on you. If you think 247 is interviewing the grandma for the fun of it, then you are naive.

This whole thing is retarded if true because whatever fsu is offering will look like a pittance to Dalvin after he spends 3 years at UM and makes a boat load of money in the NFL. He can buy granny a gold set of dentures and a Rolls Royce CraftMatic ElectroLift Chair to scoot around like a baller in.

LOL. "Sure"? How can anyone not in the room be "sure". To me, after following this stuff for close to 30 years, these situations are highly suspect. I can ASSURE you that the Noles are all over this kid as much as we are. There have been rumors from many sources for a while of shenanighans going on with this kid for a while, it is a FACT that this type of stuff goes on with many So Fla kids every year. And now the Grandma, who he lives with, suddenly has issues with us "visiting too much", a few days after the kid suddenly says he is torn and is now considering us seriously? LMAO. I would say this is about as close to "sure" as you can get when following recruiting.

For those of us with decent incomes, foregoing let's say $10-20k for future NFL riches sounds like a logical decision, but for these inner city families, that's a lot of ******* cash. A boat-load. Unreported and untaxed, and likely with the promise of future payments. Tough to turn that down if you're living in poverty. The only way to beat teams offering cash for these super-recruits is to become dominant again, but, as Franchise pointed out, our coaching staff has shown that we're going to need to "out-talent" people in order to return to the elite in CFB.

TH3 mom was also getting paid. Cook was getting paid a couple weeks ago then he starts liking us. All of sudden he took the money up front from Clemson and UF. Now he is getting paid again.

It's mind boggling you can make these accusations. First it was Florida paying him, now it is FSU? I mean, any big time recruit who goes to a school that is playing for the National Championship game, dominating College Football and has a strong history of recruiting top players has to be getting paid. Right? Come on..

Also, I hate to be that guy, but let's not pretend like our school is so innocent. Clearly, Shapiro and some of our former coaches did some shady **** with big time recruits in the past. It happens everywhere.
