Congrats from ND Fan

Just wanted to say congrats on the win Sunday night and thanks for all the back-and-forth last week.

We said it all last week, this game was going to be won in the trenches - and it certainly was. Anthonie Knapp, our LT had a PFF rating of 10.5. I honestly didn't know the scale could score that low. Our RT, Guerby Lambert, had a score of 19.5. Again, didn't know that was possible. We certainly missed Charles Jagusah, our best OL by a long shot IMO.

There were also head scratchers from our side - Jeremiyah Love is a Ferrari (I know most of you think he's overrated), but he was massively underutilized. Price averaged over 7 ypc, then never got a carry again. I think the game got away from Denbrock (our OC) a little bit. You guys put him in a bind. CJ answered the bell better than any of us could have expected. We'll see if we can turn this around, but overall a very disappointing display of football. Credit to Miami.

Bain is an animal.

Beck is a problem, when given time. We only had four pressures the entire game. Your OL should be a finalist for the Joe Moore award. I did hate the amount of zone we ran, but Toney sort of forced us to play zone since he seems impossible to cover in Man. So shifty off the line.

Miami seemed to be a much more complete product. We still seem to be searching for an identity a bit.

Good luck the rest of the year - feels like you're the new favorite to win the ACC.

You mean you are all not racist D-bags?!?

You attended, correct? How was the environment?
I thought the environment was good, but not to the level of 2017. I wasn't at that game, but you could feel the electricity through the television in that one.

I'm also of the age where I don't think the "environments" impress me as much anymore. I thought A&M last year was good, but didn't live up to the hype. I also can't get behind their odd traditions.

I think ND will get better. Think they beat A&M at home and have a clear shot at running the table with the schedule. Carr will be good by October. They’ll get Love the ball. See you in the playoffs
ND has the softest schedule in thew country on their next 11. TX a&m is ranked 19 or 22 depending on your fav major poll. NONE of their other opponents are ranked.

Unless one of those 10 surges somehow I don't think ND should be in unless they go 11-1.

The bs "committee" talks about desiring to emphasize strength of schedule but they haven't acted on it. Doubt this year will be different.

Was good back n forth and appreciated your info in regards to your team. Im sure you had better idea of our team being on here than most of your media as they seemed to dismiss us having any ability to play with you guys.

It sucks to lose but you will be a tough out for most teams on your schedule and you have a talented QB who in theory should get better ( I want to see how he reacts when blitzed as we didnt really do much, tho most teams dont have resources for that on your schedule).

I know your fans look at Love like ferrari and both backs look like they move at different speed when bouncing outside but theri usage is very low and something we mentioned prior. They just dont give enough touches. I am sure the ferrari will break out against Purdue or someone tho. Both backs should get touches, keeping a back out the game and one of main weapons because they got smacked and fumble seems counterintuitive but we will take it.

I do think your wr were kinda overrated and your media underestimated the upgrades we made at DB. Im still tryna confirm if Greathouse played, not sure yet. But again in system and schedule I am sure they will go off, I know Denbrock is TE coach and very high on the TE but not sure why he was such focal point.

On defense you guys will be fine, seems like your pass D is like those aggressive NBA defenses where the refs give them a pass because they dont want to call a foul every play so they get allowed to play aggressive and tug and hold, mug the WR. The pass D is solid. We tried to tell you guys that if Mario/Mirabal do ANYTHING they will devote resources to keep Beck clean, we said a statue like Tyler Van Dyke was sacked less than Ward because that will always be priority for them.

You guys should still have a great season and QB again in theory should get better with more experience.
I think Love/Price not getting a lot of touches actually had a lot to do with Miami winning the middle of the game. 14 unanswered points before and after halftime, without touching the ball forced us to chase. With the awful OL play, it sort of took running out of play. Miami forced us to do what we hate doing. So, ton of credit there. I'm not a fan of giving a freshman a ton of RPOs either, especially to a guy who wants to throw when given the option. Feels like you're making him think too much pre-snap. Moving forward, Carr can't be the reason we win games. Have to fix the trenches.

As for the defense - I thought it was a huge mistake for us to play passive. We're not accustomed to only bringing four every time and having our CBs play soft coverage. I'm not a football doctor, but that's the opposite of what brought us success the last few years. Maybe Ash saw something my untrained eye can't. No clue.

I do know this though ... we only gave up three 70+ yard TD drives once last year. Ohio State in the natty. Can't do that and expect to win.

To be fair, Notre Dame's remaining SOS is 60th. Yes, not great. Miami's is 59th.

All other comments aside, if Irish squad looks at this game objectively, they shoukd come away with realization Canes probably win by 3-4 score differential if not for blatant officiating bias.

Aside from aTm and USC, Irish's schedule is Cupcake Lane, but if they don't get that same level of referee support against Aggies or Trojans, probably looking at 2 more losses.

You've been a classy poster. Nice to see. I was shocked at how well Carr played. As noted, we'll need to see how he handles blitz packages. But he has a ton of potential.

You have a very good team and we'll probably see you in the playoffs. But that score was deceptive. We would have won by 2 TDs or more if the refs had called a fair game. That was the worst officiated game I have seen in years.

I also think it's obvious why you didn't blitz. Beck is the most seasoned QB in college football. He would have picked those up. You're a very well coached team. They knew Beck's potential and mostly bottled him up.

Carr’s gotta learn to slide

I have no idea what formula your looking it but to say Miami and Notre Dame have almost identical remaining SOS is silly.

We have Florida, Florida st, Louisville & SMU all likely being ranked opponents. Then potentially Clemson in the ACC title game if we have the kind of year expected.

ND has... Texas A&M. Thats it. Maybe USC if they are improved. Then its literally the drop dead bottom of the ACC (not even the same quality of ACC teams Miami is playing) the worst team in the BIG and maybe the worst team in the SEC plus G5. I mean seriously?

The only explanation is your looking at that ridiculous ESPN power index that literally has the top 10 remaining strength of schedules as SEC teams. 12 of the13 toughest schedules in the entire nation are SEC. Its a joke
