What was with Love trying to be like Saquon out there? Dude is going to get himself injured at some point this season if he doesn't stay grounded.
I'll watch it again, but I did notice a few blown calls for both teams. I'll also wait for the official grade. Typically it's pretty even, and these were ACC officials, who are known to be the worst in the business. They do have more incentive for an ACC team to advance, however. All other comments aside, if Irish squad looks at this game objectively, they shoukd come away with realization Canes probably win by 3-4 score differential if not for blatant officiating bias.
Aside from aTm and USC, Irish's schedule is Cupcake Lane, but if they don't get that same level of referee support against Aggies or Trojans, probably looking at 2 more losses.
The do have more incentive for any ACC team not named Miami.I'll watch it again, but I did notice a few blown calls for both teams. I'll also wait for the official grade. I guess the counter argument would be Virginia Tech last year. The do have more incentive for any ACC team not named Miami.
Example last Syracuse up 21-0 - Miami scores TD - would be game over - not so fast terry porter style- flag holding on perfectly executed pancake block - the rest is history.
How is this a counter argument? Virginia tech was gifted one of the most egregious td calls on a Hail Mary from a ref that was 25 yards away. The replay clearly showed that it was an incomplete pass and they thankfully correctly overturned the call. It’s another example of Miami clearly getting screwed overI guess the counter argument would be Virginia Tech last year.
Regardless, the better team on Sunday night won.
That is one reason the zebras got involved to make the game close. Can't get blown out by the only playoff team on the sched and get that at largeND has the softest schedule in thew country on their next 11. TX a&m is ranked 19 or 22 depending on your fav major poll. NONE of their other opponents are ranked.
Unless one of those 10 surges somehow I don't think ND should be in unless they go 11-1.
The bs "committee" talks about desiring to emphasize strength of schedule but they haven't acted on it. Doubt this year will be different.
The ACC wants Notre Dame and they have done everything in their power to show them that they will be "protected" in this conference. The ACC is dead if they cant lock up Notre Dane before Miami Clemson and fsu bolt.I'll watch it again, but I did notice a few blown calls for both teams. I'll also wait for the official grade. Just wanted to say congrats on the win Sunday night and thanks for all the back-and-forth last week.
We said it all last week, this game was going to be won in the trenches - and it certainly was. Anthonie Knapp, our LT had a PFF rating of 10.5. I honestly didn't know the scale could score that low. Our RT, Guerby Lambert, had a score of 19.5. Again, didn't know that was possible. We certainly missed Charles Jagusah, our best OL by a long shot IMO.
There were also head scratchers from our side - Jeremiyah Love is a Ferrari (I know most of you think he's overrated), but he was massively underutilized. Price averaged over 7 ypc, then never got a carry again. I think the game got away from Denbrock (our OC) a little bit. You guys put him in a bind. CJ answered the bell better than any of us could have expected. We'll see if we can turn this around, but overall a very disappointing display of football. Credit to Miami.
Bain is an animal.
Beck is a problem, when given time. We only had four pressures the entire game. Your OL should be a finalist for the Joe Moore award. I did hate the amount of zone we ran, but Toney sort of forced us to play zone since he seems impossible to cover in Man. So shifty off the line.
Miami seemed to be a much more complete product. We still seem to be searching for an identity a bit.
Good luck the rest of the year - feels like you're the new favorite to win the ACC.

Was this prior to the updated rankings? To be fair, Notre Dame's remaining SOS is 60th. Yes, not great. Miami's is 59th.
I stopped reading here.I’m brand new to following the team but it Cracks me up how much everyone on here cries about the officiating. I had to get off the game thread on Sunday. Every other frickin post was about the officiating . Do you honestly think the refs are against them every game? Btw the only CF fans who didn’t think Miami was gifted the VT and Cal game are Canes fans. Not saying its right but that’s a fact
You obviously need a history lesson about Canes football otherwise you’d understand why officiating is a sore spot for Canes fans.I’m brand new to following the team but it Cracks me up how much everyone on here cries about the officiating. That’s fair, but the only reason the casual fan thinks Miami was gifted the VT game was because the announcers clearly didn’t know the rules. When the receiver dropped the ball when he hit the ground, the catch did not survive the ground. So when it touched the Miami player who was lying out of bounds, the play was an incomplete pass at that moment. The announcers calling the game didn’t know this, and the refs didn’t explain it when they had the chance. The replay was clear, but the casual fan thinks Miami was gifted the game because the announcers kept saying there wasn’t enough evidence to overturn and they will have to let it stand when it was clear to anyone familiar with the rules why it was incomplete.I’m brand new to following the team but it Cracks me up how much everyone on here cries about the officiating. It's not our fault there is that many uneducated football fans out there. The VT game has been explained at nauseam why it was a dead play.I’m brand new to following the team but it Cracks me up how much everyone on here cries about the officiating.
