Love Joe E. and his dedication and passion for the school. Clearly has a plan and we should be thankful he's our president. Was pumped listening to him this morning. Especially when they mentioned a certain owner down here for a sports team that had his player dominate last night.

The planning goes back to before he was even the president. Some posters have tried for several years to assuage concerns and tell the boards that our administration is as on top of things as you could ever hope for.

He sounds like he has an agreement.
 
I look at Northwestern and Vandy. Both of those schools are very high-level academic institutions and they both have invested and continue to invest greatly in their football programs. The football programs that will be left behind b/c we will have a superconference deserve to be left behind.

More than a dozen schools (and there may be more) that would NEVER agree to being permanently locked outside the SEC/B1G tier in exchange for the "security" of remaining in the ACC or Big XII:

  2. FSU
  3. Clemson
  4. UNC
  5. NC State
  6. UVA
  7. VA Tech
  8. Duke
  9. GA Tech
  10. Cal
  11. Stanford
  12. Kansas
  13. ASU
  14. Colorado
  15. Utah

Best way for the SEC and the B1G to keep their hands clean? Let the ACC and Big XII schools make all the moves

Those schools with P2 value (like Miami) announce within the next 11 months they're bailing on the ACC to explore "other opportunities"... no destination announced. "We're just looking at our options," they'll insist.

Buyout will be $111M. Make those dollars back easily in 3-4 years in either of the big boy conferences.

Once the first couple schools jump, the ACC gonna unravel quicker than a Lance Guidry prevent defense

This nitwit senator is mad because WSU got relegated to the zombie Pac-12.

So she and the bill's supporters — bankrolled by a self-serving Texas Tech billionaire booster — are gonna punish Miami and a bunch of others to "protect" the likes of Wazzu and Wake Forest and dozens of G6 schools that should be competing in their own classification.

This is some bird brain logic even by DC standards

why would anyone with a pulse support being locked in the status quo? there is a lot of room for improvement in the way these conferences currently stand. not to mention schools lose leverage if they cant move.

All this is gonna do is have schools rushing for the exits -- almost like a reverse psychology type ploy.

NFW any ACC schools with a shot at the SEC or B1G are gonna relegate themselves to Triple-A forever
