So Kirby & all the coaches on Saban’s staff have multiple national titles. And Saban’s ties to the Cleveland disaster is further prove that you need great players.

Bro, I honestly have no clue wtf your point is.

I think you need to take a break from the Internet and read up what the word proof means before you start tossing it around in manner of which doesn't prove anything.

AR been saying this… the main problem is we do the same thing over and over. Teams no our defensive tendencies that’s why it’s easy for Vet QBs have their biggest games against us.. that’s the bigger issue than personnel / injuries.

Here’s the game stats. We scored on 6 of 7 possessions. If our defense even gets 1 or 2 more stops, we put 45 or 50 on this old fart. The defensive “genius” couldn’t stop us.
 
On a night that his defense was torched at will it’s tough to throw too much shade

But it does bear monitoring if heatherman cannot show enough wrinkles to confuse opposing QBs… this is still college and tom Brady or Peyton manning ain’t lining up in the shotgun… your paid very well to get the most out of this talent
 
people overanalyze this stuff way too much. This is college. The gameplan ain't changing week to week like it does in the pros. There's a practice limit so you basically go with your identity. Last year, it was A gap for life and that was what we did. Defense is now pretty predictable with some wrinkles here and there but our identity is what it is.
 
I wouldn’t say he is doing a bad job at UNC. That was a total rebuild.

For perspective, the UNC win total this year was set at 4.5 -130 to the over. They currently sit 4-4 and almost beat us to go over. Games against UConn, uva and nc state all but guarantee they will clear it.

They also had Clemson beat before a long rain delay, and had ND on the ropes in the 2nd half. 5-3 ATS on the season.

Expectations are relative, and by all metrics UNC is exceeding them this season. They have looked competent and well coached all season. To say otherwise means you either haven’t been watching the games or are just hating.
 
LOL at anyone who is citing bill Belichick as a defensive mastermind bc of his HOF Superbowl gameplan.

Todd Bowles' gameplan against Mahomes is also in there, and Todd Toilet Bowles is an abysmal head coach. Marvin Lewis's 2000 Ravens, Dan Quinn's 2013 Seahawks, Buddy Ryan's 85 Bears, all BETTER Superbowl defenses than anything Belichick ever did and guess what? Doesn't mean **** as a HC.

The reality is, Belichick has been under .500 as a head football coach without Tom Brady, who without Belichick was -- a superbowl champ and MVP level player.

And my final point that Bill doesn't get is this is college. Reminds me of Fat Tuna Charlie Weiss who thought he would have a "schematic advantage". You don't need to be some schematic mastermind to win lots of game.

Jimmy Johnson played quarters and cover 2 the entire game and had college defenses that obliterated everyone. You don't NEED to change **** if you play your system well and have elite players everywhere.
 
Belichick is one of the best strategists in football history and knows how to gameplan against anyone. His biggest flaw was that he sucked as a GM in New England. His tenure at UNC got off to rough start because he trusted that fraud Lombardi with his hair piece and Al Davis stories. You can clown him for a bunch of things but the talk of him being a fraud as a coach is just ridiculous.

I know what our defense is running from my couch and I know nothing about breaking down film. Every time Dunnigan comes down into the box, he is blitzing. Heatherman doesn’t disguise anything. I am big fan of him but he needs to make adjustments, show some different looks, change coverages. The tight ends owned us all night and it was the same coverage over and over again.

I would guess that some of the reasons are time constraints (less practice time than NFL), poor choices with coordinators, and subpar talent evaluations, among other reasons. And not having arguably the best QB ever doesn't help.

I love the Heatherman hate. Yep he sucks, so hopefully no one hires him as their next HV so we can keep him a few more years.
This dude can coach his butt off! We have some limiting players, and some injuries that are hindering this D. Those injuries are affecting our tackling for sure, so we just need to keep winning and get healthy.
