Agreed. In basketball too. Thon Maker, 5-star, signed with Howard University. I hope it does continue and disrupts the current power structure. Good for these kids doing what past generations were afraid to do.

There has to be some big deal behind the scenes. I am not sold Deion is such an amazing recruiter that he flipped this kid without a little help from a 3rd party. Still, this is brilliant marketing for Sanders. Kudos.

That being said, Deion did FSU very dirty. This is a nightmare for the folks in Tally. In spite of this, they will be so desperate in a year or two, and they will hire Deion when it is all said and done.
 
Deions got connections at Barstool Sports (used to work with them). Im assuming (good chance) that he's gonna get Hunter a LARGE *** NIL deal at Barstool. Just a thought. Either way, these FSU tears are tasting great.

I don’t think it’s out of the question that a few more highly rated athletes might start going to HBCUs, and I don’t think that’s a bad thing necessarily.

It’s really not going to affect the P5 schools overall though. Just won't be enough to make an overall significant impact.

But good for Deon and good for Jax State.

If you think he went to that school for any reason other than money, I got some beach front property for you in Montana. It would be great for this to happen but unless Barstool sports starts giving every top 50 recruit a million+ to go to these schools then it won't happen.

You will have a couple here or there but this only happened because Deion was able to put together a record breaking deal for Hunter. They are the only school in HCBUs that can reasonably put one together and again this would not have happened without Deion's connections.

I thought this -- the bust rate for recruits is high. This kid could be a nobody.

But on the flip side, Barstool, Deion, and Hunter will be the national storyline from signing day today. I don't know the exact monetary value of that kind of publicity but they're definitely getting their name out there more.

hunter would have gone there even if I was the head coach with that kind of 💰 being thrown at him

can't blame norvell and can't credit deion too much as a true recruiter in this case, other than his ability to get barstool involved
