Coach Diaz with Joe Rose show

NFL teams fired head coaches and have hired complete new staffs in less time than Manny has taken.................at the very least it looks like he is having trouble...............

I liked his approach regarding the QB situation. Sounds like he was calling a few guys out.."Not going to play you by default because you are the best out of an average group" (paraphrasing) sounds like that was a direct shot at Jarren. Which I like. And I like that he took at shot at Perry for all his off the field antics.

I also think he is trying to assemble the whole offensive staff together before announcing. One thing is for sure, the leaks have stopped. We are only hearing about the candidates now that are not in consideration. (I.E..Sedrick Irvin, Lamar Thomas, etc) So a lot is going on behind the scenes.

I want him to take his time but I also want him to make quick work of this. This cant take forever because he cannot afford to use this 2019 class as a "throw away" class. He needs to get on the trail as soon as the dead period is over. We cannot afford to have anymore depth issues down the line if we are going to get back to Charlotte and beyond.
Why would you not play the best out of an average group?

I'm getting the impression that Manolo wasn't, at least philosophically, a fan of Richt's overall leadership of the program.

It's his now, he better figure it out and get the U far more Ws than Ls.

I don’t think it’s worth rushing for recruiting purposes, especially post-early signing day.

The right OC & staff > recruits that are still out there.
We are Black Friday shopping in January and expecting OCs to still be on the shelf. It's a pretty big gamble waiting too long.

Can you blame him? Nothing worst than seeing your successful efforts flushed down the toilet because of incompetence from the other side of the ball.

They were willing to pay a mil for an OC with Richt. I believe they spend whatever Diaz needs this time around. It’s easy to justify not having to pay Richt a buyout and Diaz less than Richt. Add in how overpaid all the offensive assistants were and money isn’t an issue.
I think you’re right that we’re waiting on other coaches. It’s more complicated than just an open head coaching spot at Temple. If Diaz is as smart as we think, he’s probably seeing what assistants each OC wants and who’s willing to work with them. For example, what if Seider says I’ll work for Fedora but not Applewhite because his run offense isn’t as good.

this is really the silver lining of the richt tenure. the administration played its hand and showed everyone that there is money to spend. we wouldn't even be considering some of the names that have been floating around if we hired some up-and-comer after golden got canned. the school is at the crossroads right now on how to spend the money that would have been paid to richt and his overpriced offensive staff.

105th total offense
QB room is a mess
Only 4 recruits committed on offense
Transfers waiting to see who we hire
Recruiting opens up again tomorrow
Pursuing a new 4 star QB

This needs to get done.

It’s also weird hearing speculation about him wanting to name the entire offensive staff at once as if they’re all going to come out from behind a dropped curtain holding hands and taking a bow in front of a raucous crowd. If he cared about announcing all the hires at once why did Feely and Baker trickle out one by one?

Starting to think Manny is getting stiffarmed by every candidate.

those press conferences towards the end of the year were pretty much manny biting his tongue and finding the nicest way to say the offense ruined the season without actually saying it. the points he made about accountability were very telling.

You all talk like you think he's just been hanging out, not doing anything. How do you know he doesn't already have his guy? Took days to announce Baker.

Because the last coach did not play the best player.
Almost can't blame him now looking back

Clearly Perry does not study or prepare like he needs to and is always in off the field issues

And don't say jarren. Jarren hasn't done anything to show he's any better than the other two

He hasn't done anything to show he's worse either...

Because if you have a guy, you announce it so you can recruit. If he isn't signed up, you DON'T have a guy.
