CJ Bailey needs to come home

He also had two first round draft picks at WR including the Heisman Trophy winner. Not to mention a 1st round pick at RB and another 3rd rounder at RB. He had ALOT of help
And was a first rounder just like them. Calling someone Mac Jones shouldn't be a knock or context...if the comp is Mac Jones...its a great college football player and NFL prospect.

Watched Sellers live last night in Death Valley. Would be absolutely incredible with an OL.

He’s out there running for his life with absolutely zero protection and basically no weapons.

He can make all the throws, he just has zero time.

The thing that stuck out to me as “next level” was his decision making in the RPO game. Really impressive how he’s able to see the field and process under extreme duress.

I think he would be incredible at Miami. The only thing we’d need to do is treat his PTSD until he realizes he has time in the pocket.
Yeah that’s why they were so good last year. Him and Rocket Sanders dominated the RPO

He misses a lot of throws. Probably like you said as much because he’s constantly under pressure

Come to Miami behind our OL, work with Dawson, and go #1 next year

Special talent

Mac Jones won a national title.
Mac Jones completed passes at a 77% (!!!!) rate.
Mac Jones had a 41:4 TD:INT ratio. FORTY ONE TO FOUR.
Mac Jones had an ELEVEN POINT TWO parts per attempt, its one of the best numbers ever for a QB with that volume.

If anyone tells me Ferny Mendoza is Mac Jones (also, Mac Jones is one of the smartest QBs you'll meet...he's already been on three teams taking starts under three different systems and doing well enough in them) then sign me up 100 times out of 100. That is a national championship winning QB and first round pick. That isn't, in any way, a slight.

My preliminary choices for 2026 include:

Josh Hoover
Dylan Raiola
Ferny Mendoza

Then your Sellers, CJ Bailey types. Also, keeping an eye on Mateer who is only a junior and would be tier one, but lets see how this year breaks down for him.

Keeping an eye on Jeff Fisch's QB and Nico Iamaleava.
Mendoza should go pro. This year's QB class looks quite soft.

Was also in attendance that's dope lol, his accuracy concerns me at times. My coworkers who are SCar alum love him though. If he can work on his mechanics he'd be a problem for sure.

I don’t think it’s a knock. He was a good college QB But Mac became a first round pick because of those players around him. He is now a backup QB in the NFL. You don’t select a QB in the first to be a backup QB 5 years later.

I find it interesting people are throwing out names with less or equal production than CJ acting like we should aim higher. Like ok, so where are the better QB's. Sellers seems to be about it.
Sellers is not better than CJ and I am not a big fan of CJ. Sellers is a small step above Anthony Richardson. I think Miami will have better options than either of those 2. Until people declare for the draft its all speculation who Miami goes after.

Strong pass on Raiola.

yeah, none of us thought Beck would be available.

I hope Dawson and Beck open it up a bit more now - Beck didn't look too happy at the end of the FSU game. Could be for alot of reasons but he was throwing well and really seeing the field. Then it just got shut down. again.

Maybe to give the defense a breather. Hard to know beccause it didn't work

Sellers is better than Bailey. My two cents. He just needs a line and to not have to be Lamar Jackson

We need to knock that crap off of completely shutting down the offense. There can be a balance between running clock and keeping the playbook open. That is where Lofton can be utilized. Easy throws that gain 5 to 10 yards and clock keep running. And my god, no one can guard Baby Jesus in short area. That is another way to get 5 to 10 and keep clock running.

He's more accurate than just about any of the names being thrown around. Also physically more impressive than anyone not named LaNorris. As some have said he just needs to protect the ball better. He's going to get a huge payday if he can keep playing at this level and improve the turnovers.

They don't ask Mendoza to do more because he's not capable of doing more.

He's had only Three 300yd+ games in 3 years as a starter & all of them came last year.

Whenever he's been put in a situation where he had to do more than what's outside of the confines of the system, he regresses to the mean.

Indiana is not winning because of his "elite" QB play, they're winning because they have a very good Defense & 4-man rushing attack.

His job is to play safe & not turn the ball over; same thing JJ McCarthy did for Cheatagain.

He's not been remotely close to being the best QB in the nation this season & is only looked at as a Heisman candidate because QB play overall is way way down from last year.

Indiana went 11-2 making the playoffs last year with Kurtis Rourke as their QB basically putting up the same numbers Mendoza is now. Acting as if Indiana's success is because of Mendoza is shortsighted.

They're the same team they were last year.

If we're grading all QB's by the same standards, IMO what Mendoza does in games doesn't match the hype & fanfare he receives, both on this board or Nationally.

I haven’t posted in this forum in forever but this here might be the dumbest analysis I’ve ever read. Mendoza is a DOG..this take is ridiculous.

We had an easy throw to Toney which would have converted a 3rd down late in the game vs FSU, which may have shut the contest down from that point forward, and Beck missed the throw. It was a good call but poor execution on the QB's part. Can't blame this on the coaches. Also, as much as I like him, Beck is a statute.

Based off what exactly? Rourke from last year was putting up similar numbers but he actually broke 300 yards, Mendoza hasnt throw more than 267 against FBS comp.

TrumpyCane isn't impressed by him at all, and a GM is going to lose their job drafting him anywhere near the 1st round

But it isn't especially if you watch the games.

Versus Oregon Mendoza was managed by the OC so they could escape with a win - most of the throws were horizontal and short especially in the second half
