This is why I don't like 'just get another qb out of the portal' tactic every year. Might not be one you want, and if there is.. everybody wants him.
and this is why I don't get complaining about the portal QBs.

Playoffs teams:

Bama - sat for 3 years before finally starting
Oklahoma - Portal
Miami - Portal
Texas A&M - sat for 2 years before taking over as undisputed starter
Tulane - Portal
Ole Miss - Portal
JMU - Portal
Oregon - Portal
Ohio State - sort of home grown (portal from Bama after Saban left but before starting school)
Texas Tech - sat for 3 years before finally starting
Indiana - Portal
Georgia - sat for 2 years before finally starting

Can we please STFU about portal QBs being a problem? 5 out of 12 not from the portal and 3 of those 5 sat for multiple years

Well maybe brother you guys and I have a big difference in what we consider big portal additions. All four of those names you mentioned have a legit expectation to start. Blount has been told since last off-season we wanted to start transitioning him inside. Lowe and Lightfoot in particular have a legit expectation to start. Adding someone like Marion who was essentially just a legit return man at byu and CJ daniels who was hurt and did next to nothing at LSU is nowhere near a big portal addition in the offseason. What I would consider a big portal addition is ryan Williams, is Jeremiah smith. It's a LEGIT starter from another program. Someone who won't come here without gaurentees. One of those level additions gaurentees we lose from that room. No need to go back and forth on it though brother. I just strongly disagree that we take any big additions from the portal if at all at edge.
Marion and Cj Daniels have eaten up the vast majority of the snaps at their positions. A big portal addition isn’t defined by money, necessarily. It’s defined by starter level snaps. We shall see what happens.

I also won't believe Blount inside on rushing downs until I see it. IMO, that only happens if two guys step in at 4i and both play at an All-ACC level.

I was never a big Beck fan but I was ok with him because I knew it’s a very qb friendly offense and it would help him. I trust Dawson with most of the names mentioned and believe we’d win with most of them. I just want accuracy. Also I’d like somebody who can move the chains with his legs when things break down. Not Michael Vick.
I’d take Michael Vick 😂

This. I get thinking his future could be at DT but man some of his highlight reel this year…would be a crime not to let him play DE
This! I'm fine with him playing more inside if he wants too but he is too valuable at DE for him to go to DT full time. At least be a utility guy for us. Anything to help the team should be his mindset and I'm not saying that it's not. I actually saw this coming and that's another reason we need a big time DE in the portal.

The kid is a freak of nature for sure so ultimately if Heatherman sticks around, he’s gonna do what’s best

Just as long as we are set at DT and don’t need guys like Mesidor going inside because we have no one else (like in 2024)

DT looks good if Moten comes back. Everyone needs DT and you can never have enough of course but a good start

I'm confident that Hetherman will be here for at least 2 more years. Agree on DT being set if Moten returns and frankly there's really no reason for him not to return. Another year and Moten taking another step in development means Moten will be making himself some money by staying. Both with NIL and shooting up draft boards. Moten, Scott and Simpson give us a very good 3 man rotation with Stancil possibly get some reps. We need another Blay type imo plus another starter level DE.

I def don’t think we should make any TOP portal additions aside from QB, TE, LB, Center.

not for nothing man, but first- the portal isn't til January so yeah but...

When exactly are you going to see the freshman on Greentree between now and January? Colemen won't be here before the portal or have any practices til March, and nickel sure as **** isn't getting any meaningful snaps in practice/game in the playoffs...
There are a lot of dudes that have more than one year of eligibility that are very good.

The staff may go for a 1 and done rather than a multi year starter depending on how things look with Coleman.

I know it’s a stretch on my part. But the last thing we want is a qb controversy.
Imagine Coleman just killing it in spring and now you have a guy with 2 years left and you just dropped a bag on him.

Again, unlikely but not impossible.
Doesn’t mean they aren’t evaluating and reaching out to dudes in the portal. But I doubt they’re committing to a dude this early.

Yes, I can see what the potential.

I also don’t see Mario wanting to deal with the circus around a QB and Raiola in Miami, who knows how that would affect his immature ***.

Mario learned a lot from the Rashada experience. I don’t see the venture down this road but we shall see. Raiola needs to end up somewhere.
You think Beck wasn't a much bigger "circus"? I mean I literally don't hear about Raiola except for when hes imitating Mahomes... I mean I havent heard people saying he's a bad leader and a social media dude due to who he's dating...

Brother... I'm aware what their play time ended up being. Why would what their play time ended up being(especially when it wasn't gaurenteed to them)scare away anyone in the room BEFORE THE SEASON STARTED... At least me, (no clue what anyone else is talking about on here)I was talking about dudes leaving IMMEDIATELY into the portal over bringing in FRONT LINE STARTERS AT THEIR POSITIONS. I really appreciate everyone explaining to me how **** works in a locker room and on a field but I'll stick with my opinions. No issue at all with you sticking to yours even though we're clearly not talking about the same things.

Only CIS can make a thread about a 66 QB that hasn't done s*** hasn't proven a single thing on the field worth all this **** discussion and anytime he's played good competition he s*** the bed including the game against us this year when he had so much against it because it was personal for him... 56 pages of blatant f****** stupidity That's what CIS can do

Was about to say you were tripping, but I guess you meant Run Downs.... Thought you were saying Pass "Rushing" downs, and I was like he's already been doing that all year.

I want Bailey for the running ability. We haven’t had that under Dawson.

Raiola is fine. I don’t want to see his ****** Mahomes schtick. Keep him away from here for that reason alone.

I don’t want associated with those cuck behaviors.
I disagree but this is valid reasoning lol
