Pardon the question mate but why do you feel this way regarding Ray Ray? Is it because it’s Year3 or something else?
It’s year 3 and he hasn’t separated himself from Toney. I’ve rewatched his high school tape, he doesn’t show any elite WR trait that’s translatable to the next lev. Whether that’s, hands, route running, or yac. He went up a level and his speed is no longer an advantage. Never seen a person who legs move so fast but doesn’t go anywhere.

To me, this doesn't necessarily solve our depth issues at WR. To me, adding yet another 5'10 slot receiver is a waste, especially when you kept Ray Ray and Carr. On top of that, you also added Marion as well. We needed another outside WR
Marion is an outside guy, he’s not a slot receiver, even though everyone keeps thinking he is.

Either he’s not as fast as 4.3, can’t catch, can’t get open or the QB couldn’t throw the ball that far because he’s really inefficient and is 2.5 yards less per target than our lowest WR last year. Restrepo and JG averaged over 9 yards aDot even with TVD…
A lot of the numbers are reliant on quarterback play and your offensive system. UC was 116th in the nation in yards per completion last year and Xavier Henderson (remember him?) led their regulars with only 12.5 yards per catch.

By comparison, Miami was 11th nationally in yards per completion last year despite not having a draftable wide receiver. Having an aggressive downfield thrower in Cam Ward, an offensive line that allowed time for receivers to get open and an OC that let Cam cook certainly played a huge factor in the numbers.

I’m not saying this guy is good. I had no idea who he even was tbh. I’m just saying it’s tough to grade a guy on statistics when he played in a run heavy system with a below average passer at quarterback. Especially considering nobody else on that roster had impressive ypc numbers.

I hope he succeeds because that means the team succeeds. My question is, can none of the young guys provide what he’s bringing?

I’m confused. What’s wrong with adding guys that bring competition to the room???
With 105 Schollys now it’s no big deal he is probably the starter in the Slot rn which is good to have a Vet there and give the guys who aren’t proven snaps just not the priority

In 10 days, Miami odds have gone from +320 to now +340 to win the ACC

Vegas is not impressed with the portal haul

It's less about the portal additions, and more based on our history, IMO. We couldn't even make the ACCCG, let alone the playoffs with the #1 offense and 1/1 @ QB. In short, "they'll f*ck it up, somehow!"
