Chip Mailing It In?

We have to have the dumbest fanbase in College Football if we're going to say that a 64 year-old who hasn't coached in five years and was mediocre at UNC is better than Chip ******' Kelly.

The only answer you people can come up with to defend this Chip Kelly garbage is "but, but....Nick Saban!"

You're right. UNC hired a failed pro coach, and they got mediocre results. We should probably stay away from the guy they hired.

I agree we need to stay away from Chip Kelly.

Nah, I'm pretty sure we're talking about the guy who went 3-8 and had to quit in the middle of the season because he sucked so bad.

IMO, if Chip Kelly would take the job, he will be the best available candidate followed by Les miles if he becomes available. After them then the waters get murky, I say Butch/ or Herman, after that you get into chances. Some a little better then others like Chud, Pagano, schiano, if they will even listen anymore. Once one coach shoots you down it will become a domino effect... And we go back to a time when our only choice was an Al Golden from temple...
Let's hope we don't blunder away this opportunity trying to land a Gruden..

We have some of the dumbest fans. He can't play defense? You realize at Oregon he had a top 15 defense nearly every year in terms of points/possession.

Since when does anyone care about some made up stat like points per possession? I want to win championships, not go 10-2 and give up 56 points twice per year.

You realize when Chip took over at Oregon he took them from the upper 70s in scoring defense to 52nd, then 12th the next year, had a down year at 52nd again, then was 25th in his final year?

Not even close to bad as you're making it out to be and easily good enough considering his offensive numbers. Averaging 24 points given up a game in your worst year when your offense scores 45+ a game isn't too bad.

Can't believe people want to pick up someone else's failure.

So Alabama shouldn't have gone after Saban, and that eliminates Butch then.

Alabama took a calculated risk on Saban, and it payed off. UNC did the same with Butch. It can, and does, happen.

All I'm saying is that Potato Chip is not without risk. His term with the Eagles raises many red flags. Chip should be well scrutinized.

Butch isn't perfect either, but he has no learning curve with the school, the area, or the south Florida recruiting scene.

So, if we're looking at a coach's most recent tenure, then Butch has some explaining to do for never getting over 8 wins or having a winning ACC record.

Sticking with JS for OC is a huge red flag. He had plenty of close losses, and dealt with suspensions in year 4, but his tenure isn't anything that sticks out as amazing from an accomplishment stand point.

There's plenty of things to worry about with Butch too. I'll gladly take both, but I'd prefer Chip because of his time at Oregon which was very recent and very dominant.

Chip Kelly brings zero risks. In four years in college he has four BCS bowl appearances and in his three years in the NFL he's had a ten win season twice. Name a coach with only one negative year in his whole career.

if chip brings in the talent and fields the best defense in the acc yearly im all for it, because miami should always have the best defense in the acc at least

I don't care if he plays 10 guys on defense.

He would put up 80 points against every ****** ACC team he faces.

It would be insane.

Since the link was announced I've been very excited about the possibility of Chip Kelly in Miami. He'd toast the ACC Coastal. We'd be playing for the ACC Championship and in Playoff contention every year.

I still don't think it'll happen - life isn't that kind - but it's nice to dream.

His second 10-6 season did NOT make the playoffs. In the NFL, that's a failure. He's not making the playoffs this year (back to back failure). So he's had 1 good NFL season, in 3.

Lol... teams with losing records made the playoffs but you're saying his season was a failure because his ten win team wasn't put in. That is a system issue my friend. Ten wins is tough in the NFL.

My goodness, Butch coaching again was once a wet dream but you guys have ruined it. you're talking down a guy who has one bad season and it's as an NFL GM. We haven't sniffed a ten win season in over a decade and Chip has multiple at Oregon and two at the highest level. I love Butch but he's not in the same ball park. Chip would be in the top five coaches in the nation by stepping on a college field.

Lately I've read several prosts saying this same thing. That, somehow, Butch supporters have ruined your wet vaginas. WTF!!! Is this a Miami Hurricanes forum, or a "please don't hurt my feelings" safe area? Is this only about being on the winning side of the argument?

Most prosters exaggerate to make their point. It's expected in this anonymous internet ether. Consider that the volume of the argument is a reflection of the depth of Canes support.

So what if all the dumbass Potato Chip prosters pile on Butch. Chip exposes his incompetence on a weekly basis. Just watch as the Patriots shred him, next week. It'll hurt as an Eagles fan, but it's a sacrifice for the greater good.

If it hurts your feelings, don't read the following: BRING BACK BUTCH!

Its not his coaching that worries me. Its getn rid of those players for far inferior players and worse fit. I dont know if thats a ego thing or what but its troubling. Is he going to embrace the south flrida recriting landscape or will it be nother Golden scenrio?
