The 26 class is going to get a major bump from the on field success we’ve had this year, the same way our recruiting took a hit this year after the last 2 sub par seasons

@DMoney with the first listing of key recruits in the 26 recruiting cycle in the 1/31 Bank.

At cornerback, Jaelen Waters (Tampa) and Jordan Thomas (Bergen Catholic, NJ) are names to know. Chauncey Kennon (Sarasota) has not gotten a ton of Miami buzz publicly, but his mom is Sam Shields's cousin and he will be visiting officially.

"I'm headed to Miami on May 31, then Georgia on June 6, then Florida State on June 13 and LSU on June 21," Kennon told 247Sports. "As of right now it's Georgia, LSU, Oregon, Florida State and Miami standing out the most to me. I have been to all of them except LSU and Oregon. Georgia and Florida State, those visits were really big for me and stood out. I'm still working to schedule a trip to Oregon."

i love the approach, even with 3 CBs committed and the young CB haul we just paid for.

We are still deep in our CB bag, as we should be. I hope that nightmare from last season is something they think about every day until these kids are signed. Until I see the secondary turnaround on the field where it matters, leave no stone unturned.

I’m with you BUT only if it doesn’t risk Damari threatening to transfer…

The evals in the DB room have taken a step this off season. These guys want athletes with length. I want to just make sure these kids get coached up this season, but they might need to find another title with a raise, come late season for a certain coach.

I think remaining DB board could look like this…For at least 2 spot, most likely 3 spots, and an outside chance of 4 (if all top targets hit). In no order

CB:
Kennon
Howard (LA)
Jennings
Odem (Not sure, no UM updates for a while)
Matthews

DB:
Stewart (GA)
Lavender (CA)
Fitzpatrick
Hester
Clarke (VA)
J.Thomas (NJ)
Broadnax

S:
Aguirre (GA, maybe not anymore, no updates for a while)
Hughes
D.Jackson
T.Green (GA)
Redding (GA)
Crutchfield
Benjamin (CA)
McCoy (GA)

I'd say maybe 3-4 of those couldn't commit right now but in the top tier of backups (Hughes, Lavender, Crutchfield, Broadnax would be some of my guesses) , I feel the rest could probably commit right now. Obviously a couple on this list Matthews, Benjamin, Howard(if LSU offer is legit) may be tougher pulls than others.

I didn't include the DC kids, Bronaugh, J.Edwards, J.Watkins, K.Hall, Pouncey….BC I just don't know if mutual interest at this time, but they may still be in play.
