The Canes went into Atlanta to flip four-star Georgia CB commit Jontavius Wyman. The 6’, 175-pounder from Jonesboro possesses high-level movement skills and excels as both a defender and returner. He also has a plus wingspan.

As first reported on CanesInSight, Miami was trending towards a commitment from Wyman. DB coaches Zac Etheridge and Will Harris were instrumental in pulling off the flip.

Wyman, the 17th-ranked CB in America, joins QB Dereon Coleman, RB Javian Mallory, OL Joel Ervin, OL Ben Congdon, OL JJ Sparks, LB Jordan Campbell, DB Camdin Portis and DB Jaelen Waters in Miami’s 2026 class.

I know Wyman was rated higher, but I tihnk his high school teammate Redding is the better player. Redding seems to have more of the Miami/mario mentality.

Excuse my ignorance here, but what does "sitting out 2026" mean in modern CFB? Is he still on the roster working out/practicing, enrolled in school but not affiliated with football, etc?

 

Why not just take the coaching then hit the portal after the season. Doesn’t make sense. I think this is a situation where we don’t have all the details. Maybe a mutual parting of ways

I would be closely watching Jennings, Redding and Waters this fall. Because we have some absolute killers coming in behind them in Sears, Wright, Hall, Hyppolite, J4, Gourdine. The 26 guys better start balling out of control like Fitz and Mali or they might have to learn Demon Deacon or Wolfpack.

I thought water was a dog . He was recruited by the same coach in two different places . Yes they’re dogs but we need for backs up too .
