Canes Travis Home & Jeff Thomas turning heads on offense

But some of y'all still worried about who the 4th string running back is going to be like that's going to have a big impact on the season.... Homer is going to ball. He's the most athletic running back on the roster

Why would anyone worry about the position that has the shortest shelf life ? We are crazy.

When has Miami in the last 5 years have the 4th string running back take on meaningful carries or ones that came impact the season

Injuries have the highest probability of occurring at the RB position. It's great that Homer's improving and showing he could be a quality back. However, most teams play with a 2-RB system. If Walton or Homer go down, it forces the other to be relied upon more heavily.

Lol are you serious? Dallas Crawford ring a bell?. Do i need to mention Georgia's situation a few years ago?

Nobody is discounting Homer and Waltons abilities but injuries happen.

Starting DT/RB/and TE are dangerously thin.

Dallas Crawford was second string behind duke not 4th....

And let's be real about the situation Travis homer is ALOT MORE talented than Crawford......

My point exactly, Dallas Crawford should've never been an even 8th string RB at Miami. Just like Gray and Burns shouldn't be our 3rd or 4th string RB's. Just stop man.

We saw trayone gray dominate top ranked competiton in Miami when he was at carol city against 2 of the fastest defenses in the country in booker t Washington and Miami central....

Robert burns is an elite athlete per his spark testing numbers and was a high 5 star before injuries piled up on him. That talent certainly didn't disappear .... from a size and speed standpoint he's the most gifted running back Miami has signed in years since Lamar miller at least and it's not close

Please stop, Trayone was QB in high school and hasn't done **** since he got here besides get passed up by Homer and get injured. Burns has less than 100 carries his entire HS career i don't want to hear **** about what he did in shorts. Brad Kaaya had more rushing attempts in college in 3 years than Burns had in 4 at high school. AND BURNS IS STILL INJURED. GRAY IS COMING OFF MAJOR SURGERY. How are you not comprehending this.

Makes absolutely perfect sense to me.

Been telling everyone JT4 is going to be a star from Game 1. Guys like Harley and Deejay are really good but JT is just special. Absolutely electric with the ball, unreal body control, and plays aggressive (would be a stud CB too).

Only issue with him in HS is that he'd sometimes take plays off or be disintereted because he was so much better than the competition. Dugans will get him right real quick though.

We are indeed fortunate to have Dugans on the UM staff, the guy is right on the money on and off the field. A great coach who gets the max from his guys. Lucky us! A part of Richt's very special SEC caliber set of coaches and staff. Not that the SEC has been better than the ACC recently! Beat that Bama/Satan *** last year, lol!

True but that was an anomaly though because it didn't really happen often in the last 10 years or so

Bruh, lack of quality depth at RB, has probably hurt us just as much as bad coaching in the last however many mediocre years. If Golden signs Cook & that kid that went to Arkansas, He'd probably still be our HC.

You're mistaking depth with superstar talent. Folden didn't get hurt by depth at RB. He got hurt by missing on superstars.

Do you guys crying about RB depth realize that our 5th team RB is a 4 star monster that everyone wanted--Deejay Dallas? Tell me about the massive RB depth at VT and UNC and all the other Coastal teams we're competing against. Let me know if any of them have a guy as good as Deejay Dallas as their 5th option.

Choc never gonna see playing time might as well transfer to a smaller school while he still can (I think he's a junior right?)

This. In 2013 - Going from Duke to Dallas Crawford was a huge dropoff. If we had gone from Duke to Alex Collins, it wouldn't have been as much of a loss.

If Walton were to get hurt - we'd be fine with Homer & Choc running 1 & 2.

If Walton & Homer were to get hurt - we may have problems. But 95% of college teams would have problems if they lost their best 2 players at ANY position.

We have a ton of talent behind Walton, just not much experience/playing time. It's the same at WR. If Richards got hurt, we'd have a ton of talented WR's without much experience. It would hurt, but players would step up.

I'm not mistaking anything, matter of fact we're saying the same thing. And I'm not comfortable with anything behind Homer, now that He's emerged.

Looking at the defenses on our schedule I doubt there will be many hits on either Walton or Homer that will make any of us worry about their longevity or durability.
In some games they probably won't be touched by opposing players until they are already down the field 10-15 yards.

We've got 3 unproven stud athletes behind Walton and Homer. How many Coastal teams have better talent behind their top 2? I know you guys only care about what Alabaga has, but we're not there yet. Let's win this rotten Coastal, and we're better than anyone in the Coastal right now.

Any team that loses its top 2 RBs will likely see a drop in play. That's why the top 2 are in front of the next 3. Sometimes, that's not even true though. I remember several years ago when Damien Berry was our 5th string RB. Bunch of guys got hurt. He got his chance. And he proved to be better than the guys who were ahead of him.

You're not a stud if you haven't proven yourself...nothing after Homer has proven themselves...and is Dallas even listed as a RB on the depth chart?

And fuq Bumma, I've never looked at them as the gold standard for RBs, I want to get back to early 2K UM standards. Some of the RBs in our worst years (Portis,James, & Najeh) are better than the RBs Bumma has produced in their best years...remember that Bumma coach saying that Lamar Miller is better than any RB Bumma has on their roster?
