I would say so.

Alot more speed to the football and that's to be expected now that Rodgers, Highsmith, Gaines, and Green (God bless 'em) are off the team. You insert guys like Kirby, Carter, Crawford, Owens, and Muhammad, you get the speed/violence that we are accustomed to in a Miami defense. What we DON'T see is if the mental errors are still prevalent. Those M.E. breakdowns have been the hallmark of this defense over the past 2 seasons. Guys not knowing where to be in a scheme that demands that you know where to be. We won't know any of that until the real bullets start flying in September.

I don't know about MEs, but the violence level seemed higher. That I like, I like it a lot. A violent ME pays dividends later in game. Just delivery pain every play and the toll will weight the other team down. Body blows sucks the air from lungs and that takes energy from legs. You own the 4th from the pain delivered in the 1st three.

I know we ain't where we were 10-13 years ago, but ****. Positive buzz is practically impossible to drum up with some of you guys. I know the defensive scheme is suspect, and Ryan ain't Andrew Luck, but it doesn't mean y'all nukas have to hate so **** much.

Some of y'all sound like closet FSU, VT, ND, and UF fans the way y'all talk about the program you claim to love. It's an embarrassment. Restating every known negative on a message board ain't going to change a **** thing for the betterment of the program, in fact it's the very opposite.

Golden and staff does not come on here and read some of y'alls Madden/NCAA Football assessments of what needs to be done. With that being said, y'all mopes are simply wanting to look like the smartest porster on this site. Which in turn what you end up doing is feeding the trolls like Genron and Chad Wilson. "Look how the fans view The U. Now get in the car, and let's check out (insert SEC school here), and let you see what the world is like outside of Miami."

Boys need to get a grip here. This has become an abomination. This isn't about "Slurpers or Mopes". It's about what brings us to this board, The University of Miami. Support it for better or worse, or GTFO. Take a break from the boards until you level out. I love all y'all, but y'all need some booty around here. Actual booty, not your palm, lotion, and PornHub.

A real embarrassment: People who support a head coach over a program.

The "haters" want what is best for this program. 1-12 against teams with 5 or more wins? And those who question the coaching staff are a detriment to the program?

I don't think there are many folks happy with Golden's coaching and/or his DC.
Lots of valid arguments supporting the disappointment, IMO.

However, how many threads do we need to open essentially stating the
same thing over, and over, and over, and over, and over........

Also, it's kind of old when other threads get thread-jacked with the same
stuff.

The bad guys jump on the good guy then the cavalry run in to get the save. It looks almost as scripted.

Same arguments over and over.

I have concerns and anybody with eyes should , but I'm not ready to say fire the staff or question Al's blood sugar. The writing should be on the wall the first few games , we'll have a good idea where we're headed.

There's no doubt this is Al's make or break season.

FSU beat the good teams they played too. They aren't beating their chests about those wins

And last year with something like 8 highly drafted players they lost four games and a few were to some shockers.

Nah, last season they were 12-2. FSU lost 4 games 2 seasons ago but only had 4 players drafted.

That's cool, but still making my point. Let's see what this team does this year with the studs we have returning. We better play better this year, especially if we stay healthy.

Totally agree, I left grassy because of those fans. I don't care if a guy with four heads is the coach. I want to judge this guy we have with this class we have coming in, which should give us some help on defense. We for the first time in a long time have some play makers on both sides of the ball.

I'm not advocating for Golden with my post, because there are very valid arguments against his level of coaching acumen. My post is really about the fact that positive buzz is next to impossible to be sustained around the program. It's torn down the minute it starts.

We need to do our part to uplift this program, whether we like what's happening in it or not. If you can't, step back. We NEED some positive buzz, all we can get as a matter a fact. Those complain that we don't have elite talent, but how the **** would you expect to get these kids, if the buzz is constantly negative surrounding the program?

Dead on DHucks. We're not "sticking up for Al ". We are supporting the program that we love and whether we like it or not AG will be here for a while longer. So instead of b!tching, whining and hijacking every single thread with the same old mopey bullsh!t, we're trying to remain positive about some of the players. There is not one post that says anything about how Golden's pressers are pumping us up - we fell for that already and now we want to see results just like everyone else. But you literally can't say, "AQM/McCord,Carter looks good" without the same 10 jerkoffs replying, "Not in this scheme" and then spiraling the thread into the same ol mope thread.

The hate and negativity not only hurts the program and it's perception but it takes the spotlight off of potentially great players like Coley, AQM, Burns. We know how you whiney girls feel about AG, Dfr and "the scheme"(despite the majority of you never playing a meaningful down of college football). Just comment on the players. You're hate is duly noted.

Well, we've got problems, but we have a bunch of bright spots. Tough for even the mopiest of mopes to deny our talent. WR group looks strong and can be among the best if Malc and Scott can get back. Coley is such a ****ing freak of nature.

Duke and Yearby being out looks to have a silver lining. Gus is getting a ton of reps and Tucker looks better than I hoped.

We should have a decent pass rush this year, outstanding compared to the last few years. We still have issues, but dammit man.....I can't help but be excited.

Who appointed you Morale Officer?

Let me give you an alternative or two. Maybe the recruits look at a crappy defensive scheme and just say, 'no thanks.'

Maybe they look at the 500 yards a game number, and when they see the excuses made for such ****poor performances, they just decide 'no way.'

Maybe they actually watched some games, and determined that a coaching staff that can't make adjustments is NOT where they want to play.

Then, it's entirely possible that they really, really want to be on a winning team, and see how flat we come out on gameday, and decide 'that's NOT the teams I want to be a part of.' When you have linemen defending receivers? When the same, identical play is run five damned times, each time it gains big yards, and NO ONE does any adjusting? That don't fly in Pop Warner football.

I got some more bad news. It's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.
