Candidates for UM Head Coach

Mark Hudspeth
Mark Stoops
Paul Narduzzi

Starts there, and no reason why we shouldn't be able to get one of them.

Why not Chud? He's a Cane and has had awesome offensive success as a coach (other than the Browns job which you can't hold against him).

Charlie Strong would be a perfect fit here.

And lol if you don't think he's gonna turn it around at Texas

Remember Saban's first year with Alabama?

JJ's first year with UM?

Bo was Donna list prior to hiring Golden.. will be interesting if they re-visit that.

Is the question who we want or who we think will have a shot at the job. I'm thinking the latter so someone like doc Holliday would be someone we would look at. Has Marshall in top 25 was a beast recruiter while at UF. Widely considered one of the best. Him and coley might get everyone and might not be able to ***** it up with the amount of talent they got. To me he is the type of guy this school will look at. They aren't stealing a top flight coach from a big school.

I think the NFL route would work well. Get a young coach who could mesh well with the SoFla kids and the lifestyle. I'd go for broke on Jim Harbaugh. Imagine how good Kaaya could become under him. And would instantly re-register this program. One negative we may have to wait till January to even have a shot at him.

The Harbaughs will not return to the college ranks. Their stock is too high in the NFL. However, they might have talented assistant coaches willing to take a position at a high-profile college.

Butch Davis, and give him up to two million to hire top coordinators.

National Championship in three to four.

Checkmate.

Jim Leavitt at Frisco might be possible.

Butch before Lane. Lane has put teams on probation every place he went.

OP I hate your list. I'm making phone calls in the following order, and offering every guy the job until someone says yes.

1. Gary Patterson
2. Butch Davis
3. Mark Dantonio
4. Todd Graham
5. Rich Rodriguez
6. Jim McElwain
7. Mark Hudspeth

If they've all said no, start interviewing coordinators like

Tom Herman
Rhett Lashlee
Jeremy Pruitt
Kirby Smart

The top seven would be great, but most are unlikely since they are already head coaches with lucrative positions at big-time football schools. McElwain and Hudspeth seem possible as UM would be a step up from Colorado State and Louisiana-Lafayette.

A lot of delusion in this thread. Pull up your comforters, boys, AL is camped out in this ***** for the long haul. If by some miracle of God they manage to lose him, enough with the pie-in-the-sky ideas. You would be lucky to even end up with Fuente. And LOfreakingL at the "insider" Ariz saying Coley needs to stay on staff at all costs. Dude is a freaking buster in wayyyy over his head. Why keep him for recruits if he can't coach for diddlypoo? Mired in mediocrity here.
