Can we talk about what’s ACC/Refs beef with Miami

On a day we couldn’t afford it, the refs were awful. Earlier in the year, Marty Brown had the TD called back when they blew the play dead prematurely. We were in a good enough spot to overcome. Saturday was inexcusable from the refs

The fact that Toney getting ******* tackled on the play where we got called for ineligible downfield didn’t even make the cut of worst non-calls says a lot. Or any of the **** 54 was doing all ******* game that 100000% would’ve gotten us multiple 15 yard penalties.

I hate *****ing about officiating, and I know a lot of people here think anything pointing out how bad it was is somehow excusing how poorly we played. But yesterday was absolutely egregious.

It's in the video posted in this thread. Link below.

For some reason I missed that fumble I can't believe the called that a non fumble.

Listen, we’re trash with a trash HC.. yes. But what the **** is the real issue with us and the ACC refs? They make bad calls through out the league.. but something else is going on when it comes to UM games.

This is easily one of the worse no calls I’ve ever seen. You even have the game announcers wondering what seems like weekly wtf is going on too.

My bigger gripe is the holding on mauignoa, the defender fell down

Yes, the refs are(and have been terrible), but it's also beyond frustrating that we make it worse by not playing clean. We all KNOW that there will be some egregiously bad calls against Miami and we still manage to consistently do stupid crap like jump offsides(Blay has done it multiple times this season, despite being a DT) and false start. If Miami could eliminate the stupid focus penalties, that would go a long way to helping keep drives alive. We CONSISTENTLY kill drives by doing this crap.

Right now, this team plays losing football. Period. Undisciplined and disorganized. While Mario and the staff should take responsibility for these issues, I also believe that the players need to step up and lead themselves. If certain players keep making mistakes, then the TEAM should give that player the proper motivation to not make that mistake anymore. How that motivation is provided is up to the team, but it needs to happen.

They lost the last bit of credibility they had when the said the guy on the sidelines catch at the end had control and that losing control before going out of bounds didn't matter. They lied to the nation and made it be true. The guy on the booth was so impressed they ****ed up right in front of the viewers he just went right along with it.
I'm glad someone else saw that. I was screaming at the TV over that.

It doesn't excuse Mario's ****** game plan, and it shouldn't have been close, but you're right, literally any one of those many calls would have changed the outcome of the game.

It's for betting purposes. The moment I see ****** refs nowadays, it's always about betting purposes.

Miami is the odds-on favourite in most games this season. It doesn't take a big bet to make nice bucks out of it.

It doesn’t. But remember that a ref can throw a flag on every single play if he wanted to. There are holding penalties on every down. There is contact between db and wr every single down. They choose when to throw the flags, and flags against our offense are momentum killers.

I honestly feel bad for the fans and the players. We watch as if we have a legit shot, but it’s basically WWE.

We should never leave a game in the hands of the refs. Period.

Our game plan has been horribly predictable and by extension easy to defend against. If it's because Beck lacks the ability to process and make throws is not for me to guess. I'll say I'd much rather see Emory or Luke or whoever is the worst QB on the practice squad miss receivers than Beck throw picks.

That said, the officiating has been horrible. The decline is across CFB, but definitely seems to be worse against us, maybe because I'm paying closer attention. Part of me thinks refs are now using replay as a crutch and have lost the quick thinking skills as a result.
