He recruited over Rattler who was the #1 QB recruit when he came out of HS. Riley will take whoever the better player is, regardless of what they did in the past.

Lincoln been ahead of the curve, just get a proven arm to transfer in and be done with it.. lol

If we're trying to be like Michigan/UGA, then no Cam Ward definitely isn't & would not be the pick.

If establishing the run & controlling the clock is the main objective for the Offense, then yes guys like Will Howard, Matt Sluka, Tyler Shough etc.. would probably be the better fits.

Think about the best Houston offenses and the best WVU offenses. All of them ran the ball with the QB. The choice should either be Will Howard, Matthew Sluka, or Jordan McCloud


Then bring in Brendan Sorsby or Athan Kaliakmanis as the the backup/future option.

Idk how similar they are. Ward has a better arm and is taller than king by a good amount. Ward can run but king when healthy better runner

This

Ward is not a runner. He has decent speed and is athletic so he can move around if the pocket breaks down to buy some time or can pick up a first down with his legs but he isn’t going to be shaking people with elusiveness. You can also use him on some designed runs or read options occasionally to keep the defense honest but he is not a dynamic runner.

King was an elusive an dynamic runner, but Ward is a better pure passer.

Ward is perfect. Great passer and has enough speed and athleticism to move the sticks if needed. That’s what you want.
