Call Bill O'Brien

Why is he trash? I’m not arguing for him, but curious why some of you all feel this way.

An NFL experienced head coach would be best.

Doug Peterson would be at the top of my list.

Sorry folks, but Bill O'Brien wouldn't even take Miami's call.

I can't see Bill O'Brien being a good fit with the current administration. It would be an adversarial relationship and folks at the Hecht would say he "ruffles too many feathers"

A sad truth is Miami needs to hire someone connected to one of these monster programs like Alabama because they desperately need someone to walk into the building and point out how far behind we've gotten internally. We've gotten to that point. It is what it is. If its BOB, its BOB.
Like Enos?

That's why the program needs someone like O'Brien, an outsider who's been around successful programs and has a clue of what's required. Not a clown happy to land his dream job right out of the box. Richt brought some of this when he arrived from the SEC & Georgia, but unfortunately he was already burned out and not long for the job.

Can he recruit?
No. He's not good at it nor does he enjoy it.

He can call an offensive game though. We saw that at Penn State and Houston. He was the only coach to make Hackenberg look like a starting QB.

He ran Houston into the ground with his player personnel decisions.

Pedo State should have collapsed and he kept them at least competitive.

A former NFL head coach is probably a good fit to recruit South Florida, too.

I like the fact he is the Bama OC. Getting to see how they operate.

Will he stay for 4 years?
This is my concern. Will he stay. He just has NFL as next destination written on him.

He should be one of the first calls. He's not an NFL guy and he won't get that type of opportunity again. Houston let him cook, buy the groceries, remodel the kitchen, and just about anything he wanted to do. And the results were disastrous. He's led a 'rebuild' before at PSU and is credited with shifting the culture that Franklin is currently winning with.

Some of the best college coaches are complete A-holes. You can't approach your job like that in the NFL, unless you happen to be the other Bill. Some of the things that makes collge HCs successful, would be their demise is the pros. O'Brien would have us playing tough, understanding assignments, and definitely, would hold our players (and admin) accountable.

He's trash???? He's been a winner in college and the NFL. He was a horrible GM, but his coaching ability is obvious. Why do you think he's trash?
Terrible human being. He got trashed on his way out of Houston, and how many of his former players stuck up for him? None! That's a huge red flag. Its been reported that he has a habit of degrading coaches and players in public. Using profane language and crossing
the line of disrespect habitually. He's not Saban or Belichek and hasn't won a **** thing to be acting like that.

He has the potential to turn our bad culture even worse. No thank you.

I’m convinced 95% of this board doesn’t watch other teams and coaches.

If bill O’Brien wasn’t at Alabama no one would even mention him. He was a disaster at PSU and mediocre at best in the NFL. The AFC south is trash.
