The point is all the yelling and screaming is meaningless if not delivering wins and putting guys in league. The players lose respect because the act performative.
 
U think a dude that struggles to get along with players will be able to win recruits over? Like c'mon bruh be smart

Grabbing Saban's QB Coach to be a coordinator after only one year and using him as an example to your counter claim is pretty bold. Its not the same as hiring guys like Mario, Billy Napier, Sark, Lane Kiffin, Mel Tucker (Bama-Georgia) Jeremy Proot (Bama-Georgia) or...on topic, a guy like BOB, a former P5 head coach, NFL head coach, etc. Dropping a Dan Enos seems like its not even on topic.

FWIW - Enos stinks, but he was strapped with G5 garbage like Jarren Williams and Tate Martell. Immature N'Kosi Perry - also a G5 talent - being your best QB at the time...not exactly the best position to succeed. He was horrendous here, but has been better in his other stops with other QBs.

Some of ya’ll are on some serious smack to think Bill O’Brien should be the coach here. He’s an avg HC at best, a real fvvking prick who treats people like crap & he would bounce from here to the NFL the moment he had 1 successful season & nuke the place on the way out. I’d rather have Manny 2 more years than this prick

Don’t forget BOB was in New England prior to penn St. he’s been around some good coaches, he can definitely coach. And it’s not some gimmick that only works against teams your light years more talented than, like Manny’s D or Lashlees offense.
My only request would be an alpha mentality. No more players coaches! They don’t work long term.

If you meant a former failed HC that also coached at Bama then I get it....that would be the group you posted above.

Dont care for what enos had he just sucked regardless...

But i would take BOB, Napier or Kiffin all day. Im obviously not a huge Mario guy for reasons. If he came so be it as well.

I'm scared to think what this program would look like with Manny is charge for 2 more years... kickoff chain? 1st down selfie?

Some of the best coaches are pricks. You want a friend, get a dog! Howard, JJ, and Butch weren't exactly players coaches. Good coaches are demanding!
 
Would be good IMO, but longshot is understatement. I feel like he goes to NFL next as coordinator.
 
I’m not a huge BOB fan at all but he wasn’t a complete bum at the NFL level as some people make it sound like. He did good at Penn State, if he picks up how important recruiting is while working at Bama and If he really wants to go back to the NFL. He would demand certain things players and admin that would led to success.

That’s always the balance you’d like to find.
I’m just saying I’d rather err on the other side of the edge this time around.

I also think, similar to Saban, you can get away with that style more in college. He’s not my number 1 choice. But I wouldn’t be mad if he was chosen. Heck, even the player in that article said he taught them how to be pros. That sounds like a quality we could use… lol

you mean the article where it said that the texans assistant coaches werent even allowed to coach up and fix mistakes? the same coach who passively admitted to making a mistake by pulling his starting defense early into practice and them not getting the reps they need, only for everyone to tell him to send them back in, including JJ Watt?

this has nothing to do with accountability. like, 0,0. its just one guy trying to put his ego on the map.

Did he cut someone you know? Did you get fired by him? Are you a huge Texans fan? You seem to have more knowledge of his personality and behavior traits then I have of my wife and we’ve been married 20 years!

Again, he’s not my number one. But he’s definitely on the list. He has proven coaching skills. He’d easily be the most proven coach we’ve had in a looong time sans the Richt retirement hire.
I’m not sure who I’d like, but I don’t hate the coaching pedigree or accountability I see from him. Coached with Belicheck and Saban. I’d be ok with him.

But like others have said, he’s probably not even interested in this dumpster fire. I think we’re stuck with trying to catch lightning in a bottle (up and coming coaches) every 3-4 years.

i get it, yall do not want another nice dude like manny. but you can enforce discipline and accountability without being a total **** to everyone.
