Call Bill O'Brien

you mean the article where it said that the texans assistant coaches werent even allowed to coach up and fix mistakes? the same coach who passively admitted to making a mistake by pulling his starting defense early into practice and them not getting the reps they need, only for everyone to tell him to send them back in, including JJ Watt?

this has nothing to do with accountability. like, 0,0. its just one guy trying to put his ego on the map.

I've had the 'pleasure' of working for some extremely successful people. Just about all have been egocentric and stubborn. These qualities are actually what drove them to success, where others quit or adjusted their expectations. If you look at the top 5 teams, I bet their coaches aren't 'huggable' people.

You clearly have a personal issue with BOB, and that's okay. But, you my friend, need to leave emotions at door when making a business decision. Blake, made an emotional decision by quickly hiring Manny so he didn't have to consider dealing with Mario. Emotional decisions, from unqualified people, have brought us to the current state of this program. So, in deciding who should lead our programs future, let's consider more than how offended JJ Watt was by his behavior. I couldn't get passed his fact that he won something like 4 of the last 6 divisional titles during his tenure (don't quote me but I remember reading something along those lines in the "terrible" article about him). Was JJ upset about that?

One thing I've noticed with most good coaches, they are arrogant. If that's a deal breaker for you, then enjoy your 7-5 seasons.

If he was hated by everyone he wouldn’t have been hired at Alabama. You think Saban is bringing in a locker room cancer on purpose?

To add to this, current Bama players love him and say he demands precision. We all saw how well their offense executes.

I've never seen a coach be able to demand excellence while being everyone's friend. This isn't a movie. It just doesn't work that way in football

Does anybody think that Saban does not demand excellence in everything he does? There is a guy in New England who isn't exactly a peach either?

If you want to criticize O'Brien's personnel decisions with Houston that got him canned, then that is fair game. O'Brien should be a legitimate candidate. Whether he has any real interest who knows?

I definitely know that Hogan hates BOB.
O'Brien is over-qualified for the Miami job & likely wouldn't consider it. End of this season or next, he'll land another decent gig.

This crazy notion that he's too demanding & thus Miami should stay away from him is crazy. As said by multiple people on here, he's what Miami needs right now. Same folks saying he's too tough, too distant from players probably would also moan about Schnellenberger, Jimmy and Butch.

Probably the best available coach, who is good at coaching QB,s he would do well coaching the Hurricanes.
Bill O’Brien will have a dozen other better job offers after this season in Tuscaloosa.

Why is he trash? I’m not arguing for him, but curious why some of you all feel this way.

Go back and examine the trade he made when he had personnel control over the Texans.

Look, there are some guys who are good as assistant coaches. Then one day you actually give them some "power" and they fvck everything up. That's Bill O'Brien.

What he did with the Texans is SOOOOO egregious that you can't just look away. You can't act like he'll just be "better" the next time you give him power. He has permanently fractured any trust you could ever place in him to make the big decisions.
