He lost one he shouldn't have lost and allowed a horrible La Tech team to hang around causing us to lose points in the old system.

My point was that, unlike some other Miami coaches, his teams improved over time. from '97 to 2000 we had,5/9/9/11 wins.

And my point is that if he wasn't a bumbling boob he would have taken one of the best rosters in the history of college football and won a NC in 2000 instead of bumbling it away and forcing the Butchbots to give their idol a fake 2000 "shoulda" NC.

Instead of looking at 2000 as such a major success, Butch's Buddies should be excoriating him for squandering a NC in 2000.

Dude helped resurrect us from the ashes, assembled some of the greatest talent known to CFB, and had he not got screwed in 2000, would've had a national title. That argument is beat. There have only been 6 undefeated national champions since 2001 (including that Ohio State bull****). Losing 1 game just happens sometimes. They were an awesome team, but comparing that team to this year's team is like comparing apples and turnips. Future 1st rounders at **** near every position on the 2000 team; we've got a few scattered here and there on this year's squad. The offensive line on that team was light years ahead of what we have now, and Dorsey >>> Kaaya...not to mention what we had at RB on that 2000 team.

Never understood the Butch hate. He built up a ******* machine that couldn't be stopped, even for 2 more years after he left without a coach.

That same Admin and BoD that he didn't get along with ruined our football program. Yeah, he left, but they didn't do anything to make him stay. Saban would've been offered $6 million a year for building a team like he did. He would have had private airplanes and anything he wanted. There were a bunch of clowns running the show at our program and once Butch's last players graduated, our program tanked and no other coach has even come close to replicating.

Same here. We should be worshiping the man for rebuilding our program and bringing in all the future college and NFL superstars into the program. I appreciate Richt, but he ain't no Butch Davis when it comes to player evals, choosing assistant coaches and defense.

What exactly was Botch "rebuilding" here? A team that was playing for an outside shot at a NC the year before he took over?

I think the guy did a pretty good overall, but didn't want him back at Miami. That's as far as my feelings go, so you'll have to take the rest up with the butch fan club.
