I was a BBB guy early on, but they found someone that is younger, also knows how to recruit NFL talent, has coached within the last 5 years, and to them, isn't tainted with scandals and bad blood.

it was interesting to hear him speak this AM on the radio regarding the hiring process etc. Also, lots of BBB supporters said he was only interested in the UM job which turns out is wrong.

Anyone with a shred of common sense knew it wasn't UM or nothing for Butch. And that's part of the reason a few of us had enough of the BBBtards. They lost touch with reality and became radicalized mutants.

Butch should be mad at South Carolina. Can't blame UM for hiring Richt over him. Anyone with an IQ above that of a bowl of gravy would have done that. South Carolina hired a completely incompetent psychopath instead of even considering listening to Butch.

Heard him on 790 this morning and boy did he sound sour.

When asked if he was given a fair chance he said he didnt know. All he knows is he got an interview like everyone else.

When asked if he would coach elsewhere he said yes.

When asked who his staff would have been all he said was he got tons of calls and texts per day (just like richt) from coaches in the pros.

Was happy with the out pour of support from the BBB crew and fans.

Gave no support to Richt and says he doesnt know him.

So I guess one thing is for sure, he wants to coach and no one else is hiring him. Hmmm. Makes the Richt hire look all the better.

After getting his recruiting sanctions lifted, in 2000, Butch beat FSU, but got cheated out of playing Oklahoma for the National Championship - and of course during those years leading up to then, Mark Richt was the Offensive Coordinator at FSU.

Maybe didn't know him, but certainly didn't have any reason to like him.

If Richt is a better candidate, then building one of the greatest team of all time is his expectation. Not 10 win teams and perhaps ACC title games. Lets set the standard now.

If Butch was hired, that would be the standard that we as fans would hold him up to. He wasn't coming here to try and win the Coastal division.

I can understand why he is not happy with the situation. He wanted the Job and did not get it. The U movies probably didn't help him either, as it brought back all those feelings and he realizes now what he left then. Let alone all the fan support he was receiving.

It is never easy to be told "no" Or "we went in another direction". It burns.

But at this point, if he truly wants to coach, I hope that he finds a job. I know I'd hire him to run my program if I were a mid their program. I think he could build a great program anywhere he wants to. I truly believe that. He really had it going in the right direction at UNC, I believe they were preseason number 3 the year all his suspensions hit.

Plenty of college HCs have turned down NFL jobs. You are not required to take a **** NFL job and get fired in a couple years just because you get offered.

Fact is Butch used UM as a stepping stone to his goal to be an NFL HC. He reached his goal but failed. Then he felt remorse for his bad decision and wanted to come back to UM after messing up at UNC and being unhireable by anyone else for 5 years.

UM listened and ultimately chose a better option. If Butch really loved UM and coaching here he'd probably still be the HC making about $5M per. He wanted to sow his oats and lost in the long run. Now he has to live with his mistakes.

It's no different than the dummy who leaves his aging wife who treats him well for some new chick thinking she'll be better. Then she winds up hating him after the newness wears off and he's sitting in an efficiency apartment broke from alimony and child support and spending all his dough on the new chick wondering why he didn't just stay with his wife.
