Bubba Baxa

Im not sure I agree that he's been solid.

A handful of his extra points looked rather poor. And he did miss a critical 45 yard field goal to give the Canes the lead against LSU.

The jury is still out on this kid.
Kid walked out into Jerry’s World and kicked an angled 37 yarder right down the pipe.

That was much more telling than missing the 45 yarder.

We need a shrug your shoulders emoji.

Baxa is not an issue. He’s made every PAT, and kicked off well. He was 1-2 FGs, and the longer kick was tipped.

Some of you need serious therapy.

Maybe it's you that needs therapy, pal. Because I just uncovered some footage of the kid in 7th grade where he went 1 for 3 on extra points.

Surrrrre, in-game kicking special teams on the high school level are about as fundamentally sound as that FIU pedestrian bridge (too soon?) but let's not let anything interfere with a narrative that a bum somehow wrangled a scholarship from us.

Of course the jury is out on him, he has kicked in 2 games. The jury is still out on most if not all Frosh.

Cardenas at Fordham was a kickoff specialist, and occasional XP guy...pretty sure he's never missed an XP, but I don't have the numbers in front of me.

Cardenas was a rare FG kicker, and I don't think he was particularly great via the numbers (remembering this from the summer, so don't quote me), but at least he's got some experience doing all of the kicking duties required of him.

Its good Baxa had some success and got plenty of action against Savannah State, but I do not want this guy out there as a true freshman needing to make a kick with momentum or even the game on the line. You don't shake the blank thousand mile stare he had v LSU overnight.

I remember these two Guys...(Danny Miller & Jeff 'Flea' Davis)....talk about two Savage FG Kickers....One could kick it out of a Stadium....

I wish I had known this bit of background historical information. I feel as if I had been brainwashed.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Alot of kickers have bad high school percentage's! We took a kid off the soccer team he ended up gettin schloarships from USC, Cincy, Utah alot of big schools he went like 2 for 9 or something due to mis snaps, getting blocked things like that but thats from bad technique. In practice he would hit pretty consistent hit from over 50 every now an then an it was his first year ever lol! Bubba has a big leg you can definitely see the talent he was the beat kicker in the whole **** nation for nothin kickers have camps too!
Still say we should take a guy off the hockey team now that we have one.

****, meant soccer. I always get those two extremely minor sports confused.

7th grade video?

That changes everything. Post it!

Seriously, read the very stupid article to which the OP linked. Idiot "journalist" at that site desperate to find something to write about.

I'm sure we didn't take Bubba off of HS performance alone. I'm sure we had a record at kicking camps.

Actual Miami Hurricane fans were very well aware of Baxa’s HS record, and how college kickers are more selected from camp performances than from HS games stats with funky variables.

Whether he pans out or not is another matter, because with kickers you never know.

Ask the Tampa Bay Bucanneers who drafted a sure fire can’t miss kicker a couple of years ago from the semenholes.

Idiots like you start threads like this because you love to roll around in negativity, like pigs in shlt.

Conversely I watched the true Freshman, walk-on kicker from Eastern Michigan kick the game winner at Purdue last Saturday.
