Brysen Wright on campus

Have we ever beaten Texas head to head for a top tier recruit (5star)? Baxter, Hill, Simmons come to mind as ones who didn’t go our way but if anyone can do its Mario. Hoping for another typical Texas underperformance year because their deep pocket$ are hard to beat straight up.
I dont think money will be much of an issue for us when it comes to this level of recruit but the main difference with those other recruitments is that this past National Championship run has helped us immensely in terms of recruits now viewing us as a potential powerhouse under Mario & also what Mali has done for the perception of being a WR @ the U going forward cant be understated..

@lindend

We don’t go head to head with them much, but it doesn’t usually end well for us. We lost Cooper to them as well

Our OL has been great since Mario got here but Cam faced a lot of pressure. Some was his own doing but not always

I expect that with Mensah. Mensah has elite footwork moving around the pocket in my humble opinion. He could run for 1,000 yards probably like Cam could have but he always keeps eyes downfield. He’s a souped up version of Jennings from SMU. Not a direct comparison but just remind me of eachother

Mali and Coop are gonna be absolute fuggin nightmares for DBs when this happens

Not hating on Beck but he didn’t have the mobility to buy time and panicked a lot. Mensah doesn’t do that
Not always but majority of the time Cam faced pressure, was his own doing. If Cam was anything, he held onto the ball and majority of the time it brought on a big play, but sometimes it didn’t.

For sure. It’s part of his game

He would do a great job on the off chance our OL did make a mistake though. Mensah is similar to me. Wants to keep the play alive rather than take off and run. Should lead to some huge plays for us since we were so god awful last year with explosive plays

I agree 100% with this, we are going to be a much more explosive team this year, versus last. Not only is our receiving corps better this year, but with Jacobs, we have an outside receiver that can truly take the top off the defense. I would also put Moore in that category as well, with his long strides, he can get behind you quickly. So excited for this season.

Agreed

I don’t think the stats will match 2024 but that’s because the 2024 offense had to put up massive numbers. I think the 2026 offense will score at will when it needs to. It’s just too complete. Just need the OL to stay healthy which is the same thing every team needs

I like that Mirabal and Mario teach all of the OL to play guard and tackle on both sides of the LOS so an injury doesn’t hurt as much .

I agree

Just saying the last few we’ve really not had much injuries with our main OL. At least 4 of the 5 positions they play almost all the snaps together

Not sure we have the depth but also some of our starters have been a little injury prone compared to the last bunch

No alarm bells just saying
