Bring back SIMPSON!!

we both know all the dline was coached to do under golden was stand and play patty cake so kul was taking over extremely under coached players

For Simpson his coaching is tbd
I just don’t see him as a playoff caliber dline coach
Even with all his connections all he was able to pull in from Georgia was dancing Holley
We need a coach who will land a Leonard Taylor level player every year

So . . . good enough for the Atlanta Falcons. Not good enough for us?

Bring me a developer and recruiter. I'm tired of coaches who do one thing well....that's why we are where we are.

Pro game does not require recruiting which is half a college coaches job
In cfb to compete at an elite level u have to recruit at an elite level which he had not shown he can

If you look at the teams in the playoffs the biggest difference is they land the horses needed to compete first
Simpson lost out on so many south Florida dline men
To get to where we wave to be we need a dline coach who can lock down south Florida esi this year with all the high end talent there
I agree. To get to where we want we need to land those guys. But u ain’t just walking into a living room 2 years removed from Golden/Shannon and beating out Bama, UGA LSU, **** UF for that matter. You Build those relationships and produce good players then you end up landing a Taylor or Williams or nesta for that matter

People don't understand it's two different sports lol

Some guys flourish (well most) in college because of recruiting. And big time x and o geniuses go to the league most of the time. In cfb every year u have about 25 first round draft picks. Nfl is way different that's why u see a guy like saban fail then come back and be a monster in cfb because uuuhh RECRUITING!!!!

Saban smashed at LSU left was trash then bang goes to Bama and goat HC in cfb

He didn't learn from the dolphins he's just a recruiter and fits in with college. In the nfl he doesn't have a ton of first rounders. U have to actually coach in the nfl or get lucky with a savage roster on the cheap

Whoever we get this year can hang their hat on 3 Miami dline men getting picked in the top 3 rounds this year
So it will be easier hopefully

And you are making this determination after 1 year here? It takes 3 years to develop a relationship with a recruit.

I have no opinion whether he's a good or bad recruiter, but-at that position-you need teachers. DL is a very technical position. Even if he's not a killer recruiter, you need legit teachers/coaches on the staff. We have recruiting specialists that can assist to bring in a kid or 2 if necessary.

Yea you are completely correctideally u want a guy who can do both but being elite at one thing is better than being mediocre at both

that’s why if we can’t get a top recruiter I would rather manny try to poach the Pitt dline coach cuz he always seems to turn chicken sht into chicken salad

We had a small sample size with Simpson but I think he showed promise both on the recruiting trail and coaching. I'd welcome him back.

He was thought of highly enough to get poached by the NFL. How many of our coaches in the last 10+ years can we say that about?

Did you watch Atlanta this year?... He was an mediocre staffer at best. Idk what the obsession with him is. I may be in the minority but I think it would be a botched hire

Nope. I don't feel strongly about Simpson either way, but I believe he's at least qualified. Granted, we've had failures from the NFL before too. Like that OL coach of recently. (Although he was an assistant OL coach before he became coach here as opposed to the DL coach.) But I don't think it'd be a bad hire.

Ill never forget how crunk jess simpson was his last fsu game when joe jackson got that fumble and the refs called it back. Lol

Needed its own thread. Seriously, is there anyone who can compare our DL's from when he left to to the last 2 years, who doesn't want this to happen? The only scenario where it's OK that Jess doesn't return is we bring in a stud DC and he wants to bring in all of his guys. I'd be cool with that. In the scenario where Baker remains as our DC or co-DC, then every effort needs to be made to bring him back.

Are you on the BOT?

How TF did you know this **** was going down?

You a coach? Patke?

Blake?
