yeah this was a unique argument. My initial gut reaction was no, that does not cure it because if he could do that and make more money, he would have gone to the draft this year as a likely 3-4th rounder. Hence him coming back to school to try and get drafted higher.

Should the NCAA penalty stick, no way he gets drafted in the top 3 rounds and may not get drafted at all so to me that still seemed like irreparable injury until I thought broader on the concept that wait, the only way he is going to make that plan come to fruition is by playing lights out this year, if he sucks and would go undrafted, him being suspended was likely a blessing in disguise as it hid whatever bad tape he is hypothetically about to put out. He also could get injured and no one wants to draft him.

Its a nuanced argument but once you break it down his irreparable damages are based on his hypothetical plan coming to fruition of playing lights out this year and increasing his stock. However that is not a forgone conclusion.

well in a normal world, no one cries when their player does something wrong. its part of the consequences of their actions.

this is showing that consequences dont matter in the real world anymore.

sorsby is still a young adult, but hes going through life never learning how to deal with consequences. it happened with the NBA dudes that got caught gambling by the FBI.

hes not cured of ****. hes going to continue gambling likely using a bookie instead of apps since it cant be traced. **** eventually lose a bet and wont pay (like he refused to pay Cincy) except that bookie isnt suing. theyre going to take his *** out.

And TRO aren’t settlement negotiations. One side or the other wins. This whole thing is a farce and the judge should be embarrassed because the ruling is definitely an embarrassment to the legal community.

If he is good to play he doesnt need ANY suspension games at all. Hes already went through rehab and should be good to go

I mean I agree with everything you’re saying, but doing things based on ideal world scenarios and not the world we live in is idiotic, because others aren’t operating that way.

Nobody’s life is being negatively impacted because a 22 year old is or isn’t eligible to play football, so I don’t really care about doing the holier than thou **** and being at a disadvantage compared to the teams that are willing to have some bad press if it means winning more games.

wrong fam, this is for the case in which the injunction was granted. So he got a temporary injunction which stays in place until trial on the merits. This is now the trial on the merits in the lower court case, date scheduled conveniently 2 weeks after CFB championship, meaning his injunction is season long.

Appeal has not happened yet so no timeline there. Also no real trial for appeals, you get briefs, maybe an oral argument limited to like 20 mins each side, then you just wait for a ruling. Could take weeks or months.

That's the only way I see them not playing him but my money is on them not going thru wit that
