Yeah, which is why I think the CFP is really the only shot at actual punishment THIS season. Sure the NCAA could wipe out all TTUs wins from this season. But the CFP is what matters.

Or honestly B12 + CFP combining. B12 says they will be unable to play in conference champ game. CFP just not ranking them. or clearly ranking them outside CFP. OR just coming out and saying if Sorsby plays, they wont consider those games in their deliberations. If B12 stopped them from participating in their conference champ game, then it would take away TTUs auto CFP potential, which is why I'd view that is important too....

Same way they should have sent a message to Wisconsin and the big tenelevencant count for voluntarily failing to enter X into the portal;

Go ahead, play your games and get your tv money but understand that you have violated rules, failed to comply and are thus ineligible as a varsity program and those institutions who play you will not see their win nor loss against you hold any merit in regards to dictating their own postseason eligibility.

The NCAA has the power to do that… everyone signed up to be part of the institution.

They’ll get sued for damages in West Texas and lose because it’s in their backyard and the jury is all TTU. It’d be just like this crap here that happened and they got a favorable result from a retired judge because of home cooking.
 
Nothing will happen. Texas Tech is going to sue everyone who prevents them for participating in this season at full capacity, whether it's playoffs or regular conference play. And, considering that they, in effect, have won a legal battle that protects their case, no one is going to touch it. Big 10 ADs may say that they don't want to play TT, but ultimately, they will have lawyers come in and tell them to just kick TTs *** instead.

This is just the next step in the gambling debacle. The final step will be a player actively shaving points or throwing games. We've had this issue happen in basketball far too often, yet ESPN keeps shoving betting lines into our faces.

Remember kids, you're not smarter than everyone else. Sports betting is profitable for betting companies for a reason.

Who gives a **** if Texas Tech sues everyone. As long as they can't get a retired judge in Lubbock to rule in their favor, their future lawsuits will fail.
 
Just imagine what’s to come with how much gambling is being promoted everywhere now. This plus the nba players and coaches being indicted is just the beginning

It doesn’t happen in any other American sport. Someone just compared it to a player demanding a trade. What did we send back to Duke? Any first round picks? We took their second-best player, too.

It was in response to Dmoneys post above about stealing QB prior to his contract being complete. In soccer, you can have a contract but if someone like Real Madrid or Manchester United come calling they can take a player from another team but they would have to pay a transfer fee to the team to accomplish that. Hefty price to pay but at least team losing player is compensated.

But I think the difference is there is no prior precedent of a person gambling and being allowed to play. There have been instances were people have been caught and they are banned for life. That was the precedent.

Chambliss got a medical redshirt thing reversed, his second year at ferris state he did not play a game. The crux of the argument was 1. he wasnt that good and thats why he didnt play and as such he only gets a regular redshirt, where he was arguing 2. he had a illness and dropped to 170lbs and was struggling to put the weight back on because of this "flare up" medical condition and his coach at ferris state said he would likely get a medical shirt so he got a 6th year. Yes maybe the medical reason was BS but lets not act like a 6th year is completely unheard of.

nah I think he knows its a requirement, I think he is saying WHY is it a requirement?

Like you( Judgez) are saying we are gonna win, likely success on the merits, its a mental health problem, he should have accommodations, its irreparable harm. So it should be all or nothing. Injunctions are supposed to preserve the status quo no? Well no one said he was suspended the first two games, that is just what his attorney "offered" for some unknown reason, its like admitting fault but saying its not THAT bad. **** Miami should have sued over Lucas targeting and got an injunction saying he should play in NC game and he will sit out a half against FAMU this year as a replacement punishment. Like he either guilty or he isnt and what the Court did was find the punishment was too harsh essentially.
