Brayden Lenius shows off athleticism

I really hope we get this kid, he did great things in the short amount of time that he was on Kaaya's team. Pete is he coming for an OV this weekend with Brad?

I've seen a video like this before............. Andrew Tallman or w/e the **** his name was. No thanks

That's what I was thinking....I just couldn't remember his name. Saw all kinds of stuff from Tallman, dunks, running the indoor hurdles, eating cinnamon straight...came away suitably impressed.

Funny thing was, I only heard his name before he enrolled...never heard of him afterwards. To this day, I have no idea what he did at UM, how long he lasted, what he looked like in practice, when he left or to where.

At least I've seen this kid going to the sky to catch Kaaya's passes over a five star DB in a game. Plus his great bloodlines, which most of you are too young to remember.

Lenius is a much, much better prospect than Tallman.

People were drooling over Griffin when these same videos were being posted.

At this point, I am all for taking this kid and Njoku. Not like we need them next season anyway. (knock on wood) Let them redshirt and see whats what after that.

I would love to have them both. I hope we have room and they want to come. There are plenty of smaller speed receivers around S. Florida every year. It's much harder to find a tall receiver with speed and leaping ability.

If you're 6'5" and CAN'Tdunk a basketball then you have no business playing football. You lack the lower body explosion necessary to play this game.

I don't know that you can compare this kid to Griffin.

I think Griffin is in a class by himself--athletically. Too bad he's not a student.

Frankly, I think this is one kid who, if he is really close to 225, could more likely end up at TE or H-Back. Maybe some kind of combo receiver. He did look very fluid in the title game, I remember one pass he caught over one of those vaunted DBs and he had had very good body control. I think he's worth an offer.

This thread is funny. The DON is now so much hated by fans that if he says the water of the Atlantic ocean is salty and not suitable for drinking, a bunch of them will run to the beach and fill their drinking water bottles in preparation for the hurricane season.

McKenzie is a slot WR type. Kid is like 5'8-5'9. The other two are BIG kids, most likely either big red zone possession WRs, or TE. Not the same kind of player at ALL.

You dont take McKenzie just because. We have slot guys already on the roster. You only take McKenize if you think he's that good that he can actually compete for playing time with the guys we already have. We have our slot guy in Barrios in this class. What we DONT have much of, is big possession WRs. Hurns is gone. Waters doesnt have much behind him. TE is also a bit thin. Sandland and Clive will be Seniors. Cleveland is gone. That doesnt leave much in the pipeline. Herndon is ok, but not sure fire. I think we HAVE to take at LEAST 1 of Leinus/Njouku and turn them into a TE. Honestly I would take both. Unless a speedy down field threat WR was an option, I load up for TE. McKenize to me seems like a slot guy, short, quick, but we have enough of those already.

You don't turn down am elite playmaker at a local school. What proven slot guy domed have on the roster?

That's ultimately Berrios' fate, but Lewis should have lost is **** foot. You don't pass on a local playmaker for no reason. Dumb. This'll go down in the Skai Moore column very soon.

I don't want to speak for Franchise, whose opinion I agree with, but it seems that offering both Njoku and Lenius without ever making a strong push for a player with McKenzie's skill set seems a bit duplicative, especially with a limited number of spots remaining in this class. Both seem to profile as big-bodied athletes who are very raw with plenty of upside as potential red zone weapons who could become move TEs somewhere down the line.

A player like McKenzie, who it seems clear we're not going to make a run at, would be extremely valuable as a slot receiver and dynamic return specialist. Berrios is a stud and should be a big-time player for us, but as we all know he's set to undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL and you want him to be able to take as much time as he needs to make a full recovery without rushing him back too soon. Not to mention we just lost Powell, who some believed would have a brighter future as a slot receiver rather than at running back because of his size.

If we were to hypothetically take two of the three, McKenzie would be the first one I'd choose. You can never have enough dynamic space playmakers like him who can contribute immediately, help in the return game, and threaten a defense as an explosive slot weapon who can easily create separation, accumulate YAC, and blow the top off the coverage vertically.

That's not a knock on the other two, but I just always felt like we should've made McKenzie a priority even with Berrios already in the class. Both are great talents, IMO.

Let's be real here, this kid isn't a good prospect. He played on a state title team in SoCal alongside an Elite 11 QB and a few other guys who are heading to Pac 12 schools. Yet his best offers outside of UM are Washington State and SDSU? How can a 16 year old 6'5 WR with such a high ceiling have no quality west coast offers? Doesn't add up.

Forget UCLA or USC, why isn't he getting looks from Washington, the Arizona & Oregon schools, and all the other programs that live off of SoCal kids the LA schools don't bring in?

And the "he's from Canada, just started playing" angle doesn't work either. There was a WR who recently committed to TAMU that switched over from bball, blew up quickly once teams and analysts saw him play. It's not like he's playing in Idaho where there is no coverage, it 's Southern California so everyone has seen him play.

Antrel Rolle had trouble getting up when I played with him. Yeah, he's only 6'0 but it doesn't mean anything about how you play football.

you guys are overblowing the dunking thing. true that's how the thread started but think jimmy graham or tony Gonzalez...basketball skills and hands coupled with football skills is a great combo..

Nevada was the only school that offered him a football scholarship, he signed in February 2006.
