BOT / Highsmith for AD

First time posting.
Hate the fade pass. Just hate it, always have. And what does it say to throw it what - two or three times to score a TD? To me it says desperation, despite a talented WR in Osborne.
How about unleashing two of the best tight ends in the country along with a crafty slot and a fourth receiver crossing in the end zone, with a QB roll out - you just need one step on your man or a high throw to the back of the end zone, or the option to run. Four options. Not a jump ball. Geezus. It's maddening!
Point: Give your team multiple choices with talented playmakers.
Summary: Tight, unimaginative, and scared play calling. And what does it say about your confidence in the entire offense to make plays...
Here’s the problem. This screams of competency.

So you don't see the irony in thread after thread begging for a guy to fill a role that he has never even come close to filling in his life previously?

I'm just saying we could do a lot worse is all.

Highsmith working for the Packers is not a bad thing. His personnel decisions for Cleveland have been good as well (I don't know if he has any say on the head coach who is trash). Having a connection to what made Miami great is not a bad thing either.

Clearly I want the most competent man/woman for the job who has administrative strategic foresight and knowing what is required to succeed at this level as well. Is AH that? Probably not.

Him being an Alumni is not the reason for being a quality hire. Look at the mans resume.
No only talking about Highsmith, but yes I'd like to look at an AD who's proven they can run at athletic department.

I'm also talking about Cristobal. Overrated, underachieving HC.

I mean...gun to your head if somebody said "Blake or Alonzo right now or..." I'm going with Alonzo before they finish the sentence.

At least he'd give a **** and that's a big step up.

This .If nothing else you'd know AH would do right by the football program.

And he seems to have some stroke with the BOT to get things done moneywise to get a decent coach and staff in here.

1. There's a world that exists in football outside of your tiny "duh duh he's a UM guy!" bubble

2. How about someone with some sort of experience/success in college football/athletics on the administration side?

The **** is wrong with all of you?

Hey maybe we can fire Frenk and hire Antrel Rolle you *** idiots.

B.S.

You’re saying he has the best resume out there? If he wasn’t a UM alum, he would still be the obvious choice?
Can you name any other NFL executives that have expressed interest? If any other NFL exec knocks on our door, we should answer. Until then, I would like them to at least answer the door for Highsmith.

So if we have an opening for Athletic Director, we're going to first look at a list of interested NFL execs??????
Didn't say first, but you have to kick the tires. Are you happy with Blake James? Are there better options out there in your eyes? Would a guy like Highsmith, who has worked his way up the ranks at the highest level, be a better option than James?

See, you have to come up with something better than "he's better than Blake James". No sht. My neighbor is better than Blake James. We don't want "better than Blake James", we want "best candidate". Somehow this board thinks that the best candidate has to be a former player.

Man, it's NOT his playing career that interests me. It's what he has done AFTER his playing days were over. I have never been one that thinks things like "Ed Reed should be our HC!" I know the type of people you are talking about. Working at the highest level in what is the highest level of professional sports tells me he has some experience with athletics, outside of simply playing the game. Maybe we need someone that knows athletics more than someone that is more interested in fund raising and fancy dress parties.

I think a lot of people are disconnected with his work and accomplishments in the NFL. He’s very respected and knows everybody. I’m convinced he could create the proper football organization here. Convinced.

Do you want a good football program or not? Put a football exec in charge of football and structure the rest of the department around that.

So you don't think there are any athletic directors or associate athletic directors who understand athletics?
