BOT / Highsmith for AD

First time posting.
Hate the fade pass. Just hate it, always have. And what does it say to throw it what - two or three times to score a TD? To me it says desperation, despite a talented WR in Osborne.
How about unleashing two of the best tight ends in the country along with a crafty slot and a fourth receiver crossing in the end zone, with a QB roll out - you just need one step on your man or a high throw to the back of the end zone, or the option to run. Four options. Not a jump ball. Geezus. It's maddening!
Point: Give your team multiple choices with talented playmakers.
Summary: Tight, unimaginative, and scared play calling. And what does it say about your confidence in the entire offense to make plays...

dont want highsmith near the program as an AD. we need to poach the UCF AD. if you guys are done waiting for the dude to learn on the job, then get someone w experience. get the UCF guy in here and let him do what he did for UCF
So from this article it’s my understanding that White’s buyout is about $1.2 mil, take that for what it’s worth.

I say if we have any sense at all we should poach this man ASAP

Only Miami fans would cry incessantly about hiring a coach with no experience only to clamor for an AD with none because he was here when the football team was good 30 years ago. Never change, fellas.

1. Why are you worried about the Buyout? The issue is/are the BOTs and control. They need to realize that we NEED an AD who is passionate, competent and they need to be given autonomy.

2. As for that number ($1,200,000)...That is nothing. We paid $4,000,000 for the rights to promote our DC from a failed regime. We have plenty of money, we're just wasteful.

3. Even if you can't get Danny White, they're are other qualified ADs who are cheap too. The key is giving up control. That is why our last relevant season was 2003.

manny was the next hot candidate. in hindsight, it didnt work out, but when you go for the up and comers, thats what happens. sometimes you get lucky and soemtimes you dont. if you want experience, you gotta pay for experience and go with the guy that has proven to be successful elsewhere. highsmith is manny and blake. hes a better football mind than blake (no kidding), but he would still be learning how to run an athletic dept (there are more sports than just football). ucfs danny white (i think its his name) made a home run hire for their basketball program (hes gonna lose the guy to duke when K is gone but thats the reality) and he made a great hire in frost (up and comer with nO HC experience but he hit right). not sold on heuphal but the results are fine so far.

Stop making **** up.....no legit program was interested in bringing in Manny. I remember when Miami was once a legit program.

1. Not worried about the buyout, merely stating what the number looks like to those who are interested and emphasizing how much of a bargain that would be if we got him.
2. I know that number is chump change, all the more reason we should seriously consider getting him - if our BOT has any sense at all (they’ve proven otherwise so far so there’s that).
3. Not saying Danny White has to be the solution, but he’d be a **** good one. If there is a better candidate out there, that person should always take priority of course.

bingo.

How about some track record around here instead of blind hires? Can we get an AD with a track record of hiring a successful coach, who hires a coach with a track record of winning. You can find guys like this in the G5.

I do not get how a few millionaires and billionaires (BOT) can unwisely throw around millions of dollars into product that continues to fail under its CEO (Blake James). You would think with all that wealth and expertise in business affairs that the plug would have been plugged on the CEO or forced the CEO into finding quality workers. My only answer to this is none of them have any experience in the business of collegiate athletics. Therefore, they hire someone that suits their interest in the position which is making money. What was Blake before he was an AD, a ticket seller.

It’s about time to swallow the pride and admit where your failing and hire someone with the experience in the business. Sit back and enjoy the riches. It’s not hard to do. Just takes some looking in the mirror and realizing their not good at this line of business and it’s ok.

Alonso would be a home run hire. The man has worked in Green Bay for years which is a great organization. You bringing in a football mind to fix this mess. Also, the man has a great eye for talent. Could also assist in player procurement and development. Give the man the keys to the program. Let some minion run the other sports programs.
