Alonso would be a home run hire. The man has worked in Green Bay for years which is a great organization. You bringing in a football mind to fix this mess. Also, the man has a great eye for talent. Could also assist in player procurement and development. Give the man the keys to the program. Let some minion run the other sports programs.

thats now how it works. he can be brought in another role to help wiht football, but you need an experienced AD who has done the job before. thats not highsmith. idgaf where hes worked as an assistant gm.

on The Canesport call in podcast a caller indicated that Alonzo Highsmith had expressed interest in miami’s AD position if it became available.

He also discussed how there seems to be disagreement within the BOT on the direction of the program, with two members pushing hard to get Cristobal, and fairly upset that a legitimate search wasn’t performed by Blake.

He also detailed Blake James’ ascension into the AD role. He certainly doesn’t seem qualified now, or when he was initially hired.

At the end of the day, what I take is that the only hope for real change is for Manny to continue crapping the bed and we lose out. That’s my opinion

I would say hire an AD who has experience, like the one at UCF, and then maybe make highsmith assistant athletic director of football Operations. Would be a dream team.

As much as I love the idea of Zo returning as AD, UM needs to stop with the quick hires. Its been our downfall for decades. I hope an extensive search is completed and the right person is found.

danny white is better at the AD job than Zo and has done pretty **** well running a football program. you dont think he can fix UM if given the autonomy required to do a functional job?

Callers used to hate him and rip him for his negativity , now even Furburger takes his at his word. He’s been a fan over fifty years , he knows what this program is supposed to look like. He can be a **** but he’s been right so much I look past that lol.
