Bob Stitt should be our next coach.

Don't know enough about him, but exactly the type of guy I pray we'd have the guts to hire. For those who claim he wouldn't fit in South Florida, you simply don't understand South Florida kids/recruits. They don't want a guy who understands their music or dress choices; so long as the coach understands their $ ambitions and helps them look good enough to get them closer.

Agreed...PLUS

He already had inferior players at his last school. Try recruiting when you have one major.

"We're an engineering school, and we only have one major, engineering. Our average ACT score in math is 29 (out of 36).”

He turned those kids into something pretty darn good. Imagine what he could do with the second tier Florida talent. With all that speed and skill. Like anyone else, surround him with some good recruiters who know the area and he would do pretty big things.

He is a native of Nebraska, grew up around the husker football and talks about how it was important to him to go to a place were football is everything and his family feels safe. For this reason I don't think he would ever take the Miami job and expose his family to the perils of living in SFL.

You don't think a guy making $175K/year would take the UM gig at $3M per? A guy who has been toiling in anonymity for years dying for a shot at the big time?

First, that porster seems to be a potato.

Second, assume we only gave him 2M per season, he would be making 10+ times his annual salary at Montana. At a minimum he would be given 2-3 seasons at UM to get things back. How many years would it take to make 4M-6M in Montana? He may be dead first.

Also, Montana has state income tax whereas Florida has none.

Third, Stitt is 51 years old. Maybe he is dying for a real chance. That would be UM. Imagine what he could do on offense with South Florida players (even the second tier players).

I could get behind a hire like this. Just gimme someone who has won meaningful games on a regular basis. Our name and recrutimg by default can win more games then the last 3 coaches here with a competent coach.

His win yesterday which was also his first game on the job was a bigger win than any game Golden has won in his entire career! Let that sink in..

Does he make stupid hashtags and dumb catchphrases
I E wefence

I'm thinking
Butch
Stoops (at UK)
Chud ( doubt he wants a college job)
The next hot name at a D1 football school that is a coordinator
..
I hope not Mario but that would be more like a UM hire given our history

Urban Meyer coached in the midwest his whole career before coming to UF and recruited South florida better than any miami coach since Butch.

I think he will have more opportunities where he could make similar cash elsewhere. And that might not be next year if Golden is fired. One that comes to mind, that might be open next year is Utah or maybe even Illinois. It seems that a PAC job would fit him and most likely his family better than at Miami

Considering you know NOTHING about his family or mens rea, great job making that porst.

Side note: Utah just extended Kyle Whittingham through 2018 for 2M per season. Illinois pays 1.6M per season as well (Beckman's last salary).

Yeah, I guess you must be the master poster, enlighten me.

And I guess Miami is the only school that can offer him 2-3 mil, okay dude.

Also, Who ever said anything about him staying in Montanta, dumbass

LOL this team needs an elite experienced HC. Not a fancy OC. You people still don't get it after all these years.

You're just a potato. Your porsts are awful and incorrect. You made up some BS on Stitt as if you know his thoughts. Then you came up with Utah needing a new coach even though they signed their coach to an extension (see below).

Did anyone claim that we were the only school that could pay him that salary? Great attempt to steer the conversation to PotatoVille.

Surround yourself with some talented recruiters as assistants for help.
Win. Sell hope. That's all you need at marquee programs like ufayg and UM. This recruiting genius **** is way overblown. Saban has the personality of a badger, and he recruits better than anyone. He wins and prepares his teams. That's the recipe.

You got your choice down here if you win games and sell hope. Look at that beaver faced **** McElwang. He took the #100 class in the nation and turned into a top 15 class and blew Folden out of the water in 8 short weeks.

Everyone on our current staff was at some point renowned as a great recruiter. As an assistant Folden was acclaimed as the best recruiter in the country by various publications. Coley was the best of the best. Lose constantly to the point where no one with half a brain trusts you or sees any hope for the program, and these hyped recruiters are rendered useless.

He was at Colorado School of Mines for 10 years, and no one called. I doubt the world will be beating his door down after 1 year at Montana.

Where did you get the idea that the Utah job will be open. And comparing Illinois to UM is beyond nonsense.

Why would we want a coach that's considered an offensive genius ? Why on earth would Um want to hire a guy that offensive gurus go to for advice?

We need an exciting , elite coach . Who can recruit and is a rock star.

Not a guy that can actually coach football , and knows what x's & o's are.

For one thing *****, if you don't appreciate my post feel free to hit that ignore button but if wanted your lip I would knock the **** out of it.

Second I didn't make up sh:t I merely stated my opinion, just like every other poster does on this board, based on something Stitt said in his presser.

Also, I recall us signing Randy Shannon to extension and letting him go the next year so it can be done. And I guess you know more about the inner workings at Utah than rumors floating around about him potential losing is job or leaving, please enlighten us.

Correct.

We achieved our success in the past without that.

I'll tell you what we need. A coach that doesn't suck. Being a high profile head coach isn't a prerequisite to win here. There are plenty of assistants, lower level head coaches, etc out there who can come here and win.
