Big Ten already suffering in recruiting: League coach claims prospect told him he plans to go to conference that 'supports football'

The only conference that doesn't require teams to sign over media rights is the SEC. All the other ones will have to give all the tv money to the conference per their agreement. OSU can try to play on its own, but it will be playing for free and may end up having to pay extra penalties if they go against the conference.

Uh, OSU voted not to...Nebraska and Iowa have a case because they voted to play. Either way, you’re crazy to think Individual schools will be able to play if they vote as a conference not to. Unless they want to pay a huge exit fee to an able to play a few meaningless games this year...oh and find some teams that have an opening and are able to play them
Not necessarily. They're not leaving the conference. They're just scheduling non-conference games. It was the conference the suspended the conference schedule.

What would probably stop it are the president's of the schools that voted for stoppage. After making the grand virtue gesture, they won't want to be exposed as the morons they are by their AD's and coaches building a schedule anyways.

thats what they appear to favor

They can get around it. If for instance OSU wanted to play UM, UM can pay them an appearance fee (probably a large one) and they'll let UM keep the TV money.

Exploited huh....
.
I was illustrating The irony of all these fans bashing college football for NOt paying players, yet they want to play right now. Guess it didn’t land for you. The players obviously don’t feel exploited if most of them are willing and almost insisting to play

I doubt the conference will be able to dictate to those schools whether they play or not. I think Nebraska will stick it to them if they can. Universities stand to lose millions by this decision. No one commissioner should have that much power.

Yeah I don't think it works that way. Where is the appearance fee money coming from? And what is in it for the other three conferences to let tOSU squeeze in? They all see tOSU as a recruiting rival. What possible reason would the ACC, SEC, or Big 12 have to throw tOSU a bone? If tOSU comes to Miami, hat in hand, saying please let us play you, Miami should laugh and tell they first have to publicly admit that they didn't deserve to win in 2002 and will forfeit the championship. Then maybe we will talk business.

1. No;
2. Yes, but the schools can exert pressure and influence narrative by making a different position known;
3. Call people and try until the NCAA calls it off. That's an attempt to have a plan in place.
2 against 12 isn’t much pressure, and it’s not the NCAA to call it off. A school playing outside the approval of the conference is likely against many rules/bylaws and the conference would probably be legally justified in withholding shared funds or other services if those schools go rogue

What do you think being a part of a conference means? If Nebraska sticks it to the big ten, guess who probably misses out on the conference money? And it’s not the commissioner, all the schools got a vote

It would come from the same place as the appearance fee for UAB or University of Charleston, the UM athletic budget.

As far as OSU, I just use them as an example. It was probably include all the orphaned schools that still want to play. I think the ACC and the other conferences would go along just so that have a valid bowl season and post season championship. After all, we made accommodations for Notre Dame.
