BIG 10 Players Group Demand Revenue Share

Some crazy takes here. G League has higher talent level than most conferences (probably all) but who is watching that league ? Level of college basketball has dropped significantly and people are still watching. People will watch their school play over watching a minor league team they have zero connection with even if the level of play is better

BIG 10 players are asking for a percentage of the new media rights deals for the players. If they get this SEC is sure to follow and will allow a HUGE competitive advantage for those conferences in recruiting, making it even more imperative to join one of those conferences ASAP. The question is will Title IX allow it.

Josh Pate talks about it starting min. 9:

Title IX has nothing to do with it other than ALL BiG10 atheletes would need a share.

Does the ribbon dancing team get the same as football or basketball?

So, as this is now becoming de facto employment, do they even attend classes??

A player that has been competing in his/her respective sport since they could walk IS a professional. And the vast majority of College athletes don't get NIL, revenue sharing levels the playing field. As it stands now, the financial structure of College sports is nothing but a glorified Ponzi scheme.

So every one of us who played sports from the time we could walk through high school is now a professional? C'mon now.

Being a professional is not a participation trophy.

He has getting it from the fact that a lot of the peoples in that league have played a little bit in the nba. The g-league is obviously better than college on a talent level

I didn't say that HS athletes are professionals. But if you're good enough to earn a "free ride" to College then you're at least a semi-pro.
