Best LB play I’ve seen

The PFF grades for Toure run defense were strong I guess he was terrible in coverage though.

Curious when you keep reviewing how Blay looked across the whole game? He has that massive play but I wasn’t watching the DTs as close in the stadium.
don't have to guess ... longest play of then night was courtesy of toure

Tbf, pretty sure Hetherman said that was a blown coverage and a safety was supposed to be over the top.

IIRC, Toure did get beat on a wheel earlier in the game, but we got pressure on Carr and he threw an inaccurate ball. My heart rate definitely went up whenever he was in coverage more than 5 yards from LOS, lol.

Honestly I can’t even remember how long

Popo and Toure side by side looks like they’ve been together for years

Not trying to be too dramatic here but on this rewatch I’ve probably seen 4-5 plays at least that would have gone for HUGE yardage last year

Between this and Justin Scott putting NFL Draft material on his sheet on Sunday the middle of the defense suddenly looks pretty dang good

I’ll try and give some more detailed looks at it but I couldn’t control the excitement

I’m sure I’m missing some negatives here as well but just speaking from a broader perspective it’s a different feel
Facts

The nose picker mouth breathers are going to have to shift the narrative to Cristobal making Dawson too conservative to have something to complain about.
As a self proclaimed sunshine pumper, this game was the first time where I was actively angry about timeout usage.

He simply has to stop taking his old Secret Service training into game day. We simply have to have contingency plans in place for a 4th and short in those punt, fake, or go-for-it situations and cannot constantly use our timeouts in those spots. The second example is slipping my mind, but that was also a poor usage.

So I have my things to complain about, but happy for Cristobal and happy for this team.

Looked much improved especially for game 1. I saw some good communication between LBs countering ND audibles a few times that resulted in a positive play for us. Coverage is still a concern.

Toure going down hill or blitzing is great , the other direction not so much . He scares me to death in coverage . Coverage was always the concern. Just use him off the edge on third down or put him on sideline.
