Beck ain’t it, whiffed on Mendoza

it’s not just the interceptions. He’s not on target even on his completions. Even Kirk herbstreit called it out last night. Go back and watch ND, USF, and UF his throws are off in a way that cause the receivers to lose momentum; getting tackled for a loss on screens or no gain otherwise. Stats against power 5 ain’t all that great: 68%, 705 yards, 5 tds, 3 ints “ wah wah🎺🎺”. He’s averaging 235 yds/game 1.66 tds and 1 int. That ain’t gonna get it done in the playoffs and a lot of you schlubs are gonna be butt hurt when it’s a tight game and he throws a pick on a game ending 2 minute drive.

Meanwhile hometown kid Fernando Mendoza tosses 5 tds against a top ten with no ints on the season. But hey loafers don’t lie.

Bless your heart.

To the highlighted comment above - I was not a fan of Shannon's route concepts last night. Outside of the few nice plays to Lofton, it didn't appear like he countered what UF was doing on D or doing more to scheme WRs open. It's difficult to know for sure without the All-22 film but during some replays, all i saw was simple routes with UF DBs glued to the WRs.
Route concepts were booty! We literally used 30 percent of the field! They just played off and played cover 3 and 4 all night. We were afraid of running anything in the seams or deep mid all night. The one time we did, it was the only deep route smh. We toast them if we run 4 verts all night and force every DB to guard someone. Seam routes to the TEs while running fades and deep crosses/skinny posts underneath it kills this coverage. We did the post once, but didn’t run anything else to occupy cormani. Press each DB and they have lapses. Make them have to think and make choices on the fly

OP isn't completely wrong about Beck.

I disagree on the Mendoza thing though.

I still think getting Beck was the best choice.

But last night really had me thinking that if Cam was on THIS team, I think we are a shoe in to go to the National Title game.

I do think Beck will play better at FSU. But the rest is yet to be determined. All we can do is watch him progress.

Strong candidate for one of the worst posts on this site.

Why are we the way we are? Do other teams have this on their boards?Of course - it's human nature. Fans are generally hypercritical of their own team (especially in matters of coaching)
Of course - it's the nature of being a fan. Fans are generally much more critical of their own team (especially related to coaching) than they are of other teams.

Yes. Most teams have these types as well…. the difference is they wait till the 4th or 5th bad game, before they start talkin’ ****! CIS? **** nah. We start asking dumbass questions after the 2nd bad quarter.

One of the worst performance I have ever seen from a Miami Qb. If he cannot throw a ball in the wet rain then him and his receivers need to spend hours each week in the pouring rain playing 7 vs 7. He was throwing balls into the ground last night on 10 yard throws. Honestly looked like he was throwing with his left hand instead of his right. Beyond pathetic. Mendoza from Indiana would have been a much better pick up and was a huge mistake not to get him. Mateer from Okahoma is a 100 times better.
