Beck ain’t it, whiffed on Mendoza

it’s not just the interceptions. He’s not on target even on his completions. Even Kirk herbstreit called it out last night. Go back and watch ND, USF, and UF his throws are off in a way that cause the receivers to lose momentum; getting tackled for a loss on screens or no gain otherwise. Stats against power 5 ain’t all that great: 68%, 705 yards, 5 tds, 3 ints “ wah wah🎺🎺”. He’s averaging 235 yds/game 1.66 tds and 1 int. That ain’t gonna get it done in the playoffs and a lot of you schlubs are gonna be butt hurt when it’s a tight game and he throws a pick on a game ending 2 minute drive.

Meanwhile hometown kid Fernando Mendoza tosses 5 tds against a top ten with no ints on the season. But hey loafers don’t lie.

Of course you are entitled to your own opinion but I strongly disagree. He has played against some physical teams with very good secondaries. The weather last night was absolutely horrific for any passing attack. It certainly wasn't his best effort but we won the game and now on to FSU. My MESSAGE TO YOU IS VERY SIMPLE. May an infected ****roach find rest in your next bowl of soup!

Again some of the dumbest fans spoiled fans in all of college football. Beck ain't perfect by no means but name me 1 game Beck had a dry football to throw in the 4 games hes play in for the Miami Hurricanes...2 of his 3 into were not on him. 1 was tip pass the other was a great play by the db and a half *** effort the wr.

Heading into last night, he was #1 in the country in completion percentage. So miss me with “his throws are off”.

Last night was a soup bowl for the first half. And I need to rewatch the game but I think a part of what happened is what had a lot of us the most concerned going into the year. When we play a secondary with athletes as good as our receivers, will they be able to get separation? Beck held the ball way more last night than he has at any point this season. Why? Nobody is open.

He didn’t play well, for sure. He missed at least 2-3 throws he rarely does. But how many open receivers did you see where a better ball would’ve been a completion? Very few that I can remember. I expect him to be much better and a main reason we win in 2 weeks in Tallahassee.
👆This!!

- Beck is a very efficient distributor, not improvisor
- For whatever reason, he didn't see "first read open"
- Huge plays lost with tipped balls at LOS (Bauman probably goes 50yds he was so wide open)
- Again on Bauman...he wasn't even looking at ball as relief valve to help Beck on 3rd down bust..he easily picks up 1st down
- Beck seems to struggle on touch passes to RBs/TEs coming out of backfield (usually as checkdown)
- What did everyone think about Cormani's interception? I believe it was a "doing to much throw" + great play by McClain

It’s so funny to me, listening to trolls from other fan bases, and even our own fans this morning saying, “Beck sucks”, “Beck is overrated” blah blah blah. It was a game against a hated rival and a Gator team, that, say what you will about their offense but they have a very, VERY good defense. If you look at all the elite teams, every year, they always have 2-3 games a year where you’re out of sync, your mettle/resolve is tested, and even though nothing seems to be working you find a way to push through. That’s what championship teams do. Through 4 games, what I’ve learned most about this team is that they are just as mentally strong as they are physically gifted. It wasn’t a great game for Carson, but the TEAM found away to fight through the adversity and get the W. Again, that’s what championship teams do. Go Canes!
Indeed🙌🏽

What was with the tight end, I think 87, in the first half? On a longer route to the end zone is seemed that Beck reacted like he ran the wrong route. On the flat pass to the right, he was block ing for no one on that side and didn't look at Beck for the pass.

We'll see what happens, but last night wasn't a good showing. Prior to that, it was a different story. Offensively, throwing the ball, we're still trying to figure it out and that's okay, it's still early in the season.

One kid was at the helm of a program that won many games against big-time competition, the other was a good college QB who did so-so, albeit with less surrounding talent around him. This was also the consensus amongst the Mel Kipers and Ozzie Newsomes on this board. Sorry, you don't get to dump on coaches after 1 bad game.

It can't be argued that his ball placent is off because it is.
He doesn't move his feet well at all and is a statue in the pocket. When he has to move his feet and throw off platform he's inaccurate. Again, inarguable.
I never looked at him as a savior. He's a game manager with an ability to throw a great deep ball, process his reads fast and is really good presnap (even though he had some bad checks last night).
He needs to be better for sure.

It pains me to say it...but Carson Beck's arm has been cooked to al dente.

I'd like to go back and see if Purdy's arm was weak sauce early in the season and got stronger as it went on...because the arm just looked weak through 4 weeks. We aren't getting much downfield. Luckily, he's a good checkdown quarterback and is making the right decisions to just move the ball down the field.

I think the wet weather, combined with Beck having an off day and UF defense playing well all factored in. Beck will play much better against FSU. Everyone has bad days once in a while.

Looked like he was firing passes too hard... low to the ground initially and then compensating by going high.
Maybe he was gripping the ball tighter due to wet ball + drizzling rain...
I remember Peyton Manning talking about how the wet ball affected his grip and release ....that he literally practiced dipping balls in a pail of water
