He struggled in blocking, which is fine. He was recruited to block a litte and be a pass catching threat. He had mediocre hands and couldn't block well. He got passed up by Stand, who had great hands and a big blocking body and Clive was a beast who could block better than you would think and had hands and speed.
his hands are fine. he caught the few passes that were thrown his way. so don't know where people are getting that bs analysis. i think his problem was not knowing the offense.
From watching practices.....
Beau was plenty talented to play at Miami. The issue was that Miami was the last place he should have ended up at. He actually wanted to go to Stanford but his juco didn't have the sufficient types of courses for Stanford. He was a west coast country boy who was a fish out of water in Miami. It's not the type of place for everybody and can get to peoples heads. He is going to play in the NFL though, very few tight ends out there that are 6'5 255 and running a legit 4.6. Throw in the fact that Fish recruited him and it makes sense as he didn't mesh with Coley.
He has stated that while at Miami the players did not help him but actually would give him bad information causing confusion and hesitation. While at Montana State the players have helped tremendously.
Depends on where you hang out on Sundays. So, after reading this thread I will not be surprised to see him on Sundays?
The source is me - I heard him tell this to Coach Ash ( Head Coach of MSU )

I know an Oklahoma countryboy Juco transfer that did okay at Miami. If Sandland could have played at all we would have seen a little more than we saw disirregardless of any culture shock or corching ineptitude that may or may not have been happening.
Beau Sandland (Montana St.)
5 Rec, 156 yards, 2 TD's today vs. Cal Poly
Nice day for Beau. I've always wondered what went on with this situation.....very weird.
Wasn't athletic enough. It was apparent pretty quick.
He looked like a monster on his JUCO tape, which is a good reminder to always consider level of competition.

Just want to bump @DMoney "Spot-on" analysis when Beau Sandland comes off the board in the draft today. :6e482c_o:

He wasn't athletic enough to beat out Walford and Cleveland, and he **** sure wouldn't have been athletic enough to beat out Njoku and Herndon.
Miami has a high standard for tight ends. Sandland didn't meet that standard. You can blame "cultural differences." I just think he wasn't good enough.
