Combine his rating with his high school numbers and the story is a bit different. His head wasn't there. His freshman year wasn't a disaster but he wasn't going to be there when the kicks mattered later on. The staff elevated his recruiting ranking and shut their eyes and ears to how he performed in games.

You don't have to be 6"3 250 pounds in order to be a man. He just wasn't a man (at the time).

Remember when Richt said he has to act like the team depends on him, that was quite telling.

Nobody really cares about high school numbers though. Specialists are rated at camps usually because 99% of high schools don’t have a real kicking coach. We all know he was 4/10 in high school but he was 75% his freshman season.
