The run game took a serious hit after TVD went down, teams didn’t respect the pass and our OL was held together by string even when we did run.

I'm talking about when we had Lashlee and TVD. Our run game sucked then too

gattis has his problems but we haven't been able to effectively run the ball the last two years under both gattis and lashlee whether king, tvd, or whoever else was at qb

I had Rivers at right guard and changed it thinking they go talent next to experience but you could be right

Most of that was due to injuries on the OL and RB room, I thought when we were healthy the one thing we did well was run the ball. Yeah the last 4 games of the season it was rough but teams knew we were beat up front and couldn’t pass the ball so it made it difficult to run the ball.

Two RBs went down at the beginning of the season. Probably best two outside of maybe Parrish. OL has been terrible for a long time trying to get local guys and a few from out of state. Super cheap administration has been the root of garbage teams until Mario came.

Welcome to the U!!! We certainly needed to upgrade the C position and lo and behold, we land Lee!!! Massive upgrades across every OL spot this offseason when combining eNSD and the Portal. Very pleased with what our OL will look like for the ‘23 season, and we have good depth across the front as well. Now, Mario truly has to salvage a big improvement in the dub column for the upcoming season and focus on the DT and WR positions; both need a major infusion of talent. Then add some Portal help at DB and possibly at DE, and we might be playing with a decent roster for 2023. Not saying it’s going to be a 10 win season - too much left to change for that to occur, but we could witness solid improvement in our record as such that we can stack 2 legit Top 10 classes to continue the rebirth.

Majority of the people in here liked the running game before all the injuries hurt it the second half of the season. When we had Parrish,TVD and a somewhat healthy OL we were alright running the ball. Parrish was at 5+ yards a clip before he got hurt. Once TVD went down and our OL was banged up, defenses knew we couldn’t pass the ball and just stacked the box against an OL on its last leg and a QB that took forever to scan the field.

Getting Money would be beyond huge, he is the most talented CB the second he gets on campus. Otherwise we outright need another portal CB.
